Pre-order new phone as soon as pre-orders go live, I always do in-store pickup and schedule it for the earliest time available because I dont want to be stuck home all day waiting for UPS/FedEX (usually 8am), pick up new phone, Apple sends me trade in kit, I factory reset my old phone, ship it to Apple and I get half the money back I spent on the new one. Ive been doing this every year. In all the time ive been doing this, Ive only had my trade in device stolen once. Apple contacted me and honored the trade in value. Other than that, never had an issue
How much time does that end up taking? I'm tempted to do that this year because working from home that day probably isn't possible.

Back in the day when the iPhone Upgrade Program started it was a complete nightmare going after work, even with a "reservation".

looking forward to the announcements tomorrow - on a 15 pro so doubt ill be upgrading

cant see airpod pros 3 coming till next year ....

may upgrade my watch tho !

if i was to it would be sell the 15 and put the £500 towards a 16

I was a yearly upgraded until last year. Always used to buy outright and sell old phone and then I did the Apple upgrade program.

Not sure what I’m going to do now since I switched to mint and it looks like none of the 0% financing options are available without a carrier.

Since I usually schedule pickup early morning, the whole process takes less than 30min. It’s pretty seamless. After work? Good luck. It’s going to be a nightmare because that’s when everyone with/without reservations will go to buy the new phone or just check it out. I’d say go early morning before work, or lunchtime.

Trade mine in thru apple, Buy the new one with apple card and pay it monthly. You get cashback, you get a pretty good trade in value and its hassle free.

I got behind all the people wanting help setting up their phone I think. Just give me my box and let me go! 😃

When I got my 12 I went to my local Apple Store on launch day but without any appointment and the queues were horrendous. I returned later that evening and queues were gone and I got served pretty much straight away.

This time I'll either order in advance for pick up, or call into the store the day after launch day.

Is anyone else so, so happy they won’t be ‘forced’ to upgrade their AWU2 this year, haha!!

Just ordered the Ti milanese band though, haha!!

I buy full price as I use Visible's annual $350 plan. I trade in to Apple and pay the difference. I used to sell privately but stopped that a couple years back, not worth the hassle to get a few more bucks.

We just have to buy them full price.

I simply pick up chicks who work in the Apple Store and make them buy me Apple products using their employee discounts.
