My 13 Pro was uneven, slightly greener/yellower at the top and redder/more "true white" to my eye at the bottom. It bothered me every once in a while and even though I got used to it, I was excited to replace it with a 16 Pro. I spent a lot of time in this thread back in '21 when I got that phone, and eventually decided it was healthier for me to just accept the phone and move on. I have diagnosed OCD that has been with me since my earliest memories as a child, and sometimes I struggle to figure out what's actually worth spending my time and energy on.
Well lo and behold, the 16 Pro is even worse in this regard - especially with Night Shift at around half brightness, it's bad enough that for once the store rep immediately could see what I was talking about when I took the phone back in today. I'd classify it as being significantly more distracting this time around when placed next to my old 13 Pro for comparison.
Unfortunately there aren't any exact replacements in stock locally, so I'm debating whether it's worth having one shipped or just trying to live with it... again. It's such a bummer to me that I can't unsee this sort of thing once I notice it. I really try - I forced myself not to immediately pull up a white test screen when I unboxed the phone, thinking "if I ever notice an issue it'll be past the return period and I'll *have* to live with it" but then I immediately noticed it the moment night shift was engaged because it was even worse than the 13P.
The shipped replacement would come through Verizon (I took advantage of a trade-in deal with them) and I fear it could get complicated with the bill credits on the account, might have to engage their support to ensure the replacement phone is registered correctly for the promo etc. And then on top of that, it might not even be any better than my current one...
Debating just living with it even though it's pretty egregious this year for me.
This thread probably isn't the right place to come for mental health support, but I could at least use some opinions on this 'sitch if anyone has them.
