I am getting tired of these. The girl should have looked at the 13" MacBook... or Microsoft should have pointed her that way. But no, Its a Microsoft commercial.

There needs to be someone in the Microsoft commercials that is looking for a computer that does not get many viruses (cough...Elimination...cough).

Five of these commercials and I don't think they've ever used the word "Windows" or "Microsoft" in any ads.

No really though has anyone been counting? I mean we're all aware their Microsoft ads, but I brought Windows 7 into conversation the other day and half of my friends were like, "what?"

Wait a second ... that blonde chick is saying she wants speed and fast-loading programs, and chooses a computer with VISTA..... ???!!?

True computer expertise at work, I guess..... *g*

BTW, when´s the first laptop hunter ad coming out with someone asking "Geez, two thousand laptops in this giant store, and ALL run the same OS.... what about CHOICE...."

That´ll also be the moment when I start taking these ads seriously.

EDIT: I just checked the specs of a Dell XPS 13, and from all I can gather this thing has 3 hours of battery life at best (!). What was that about "Speed, Portability and Battery Life"....?

And with how much crapware pre-installed does this thing come? Your favourite three dozen useless programs auto-starting with Vista and bringing the computer to a grinding halt even before it gets fully going....?

Man, this ad is stupid. With a capital S. *shakes head*

In the Windows world, 3 hours is long battery life.

"No escape from Reality...”
Mikey didn't like the fact that the Laptop Hunters were scoring HP's and Sony's...

She wanted "Portability", but found the $2,000 15" MacBook Pro beyond her budget - so she buys a 13" Dell...

Yeah. When was the last time you used it? They had a few teething problems (just like Apple did when they launched Leopard) but it's now rock solid and programs are quick to launch. No beach balls either.

I own the new aluminium MacBook and I have to say that you are lucky if you get 3 hours with this machine in 'normal' use (WiFi on, screen at a reasonable brightness).

And with how much crapware pre-installed does this thing come? Your favourite three dozen useless programs auto-starting with Vista and bringing the computer to a grinding halt even before it gets fully going....?

Hmm, from what I can see on the Dell website, it includes a free trial of Microsoft Office. I used the web chat to confirm this with one of their representatives and they said there is no bloatware on the Studio XPS 13. Compare that to a MacBook, which includes an extremely bloated photo management program, a piece of music generating software which tries to sell you "lessons" and DVD authoring software... even if your computer doesn't have a DVD burner!

WINDOWS IS NOT A PC.

Nope, but it was Apple that decided that their computers were the only ones which aren't classified as "PC". Additionally, it is worth remembering that most of Microsoft's OS sales are preinstalled versions of the software, so when Dell or HP or Toshiba sells a notebook, Microsoft makes money. When this person chooses to buy an Apple laptop, Microsoft doesn't make money.
