Which iDisk app are we talking about? There are a few out there already. Try Quickoffice Files, it's only a buck.

I used the chat with MobileMe support to ask about this today...they know nothing.

I spoke with MobileMe support about this as well, but a couple weeks ago. At that time they had absolutely NO clue as to what the iDisk app even was. I was told there was nothing like that.

I, myself, gave up on expecting it any time soon.

Christmas 2010 is more likely.

I really thought that when the app store came out, apple would put out quite a few apps for mac integration... but they have only done the remote app, poker, and the keynote app so far. Hopefully this 4th one will be coming out soon... I would very much like a 1st party solution to my idisk

So true. This would have been a great application to have along side the iPhone 3G/ OS 2.0/ Mobile Me launch. I'm pretty sure I even thought that this would be great back then. In the meantime, I picked up Quickword + QuickFiles for 4.99, but I'll definitely get the iDisk app when it comes out.

Maybe (hopefully) the reason for the delay is that they're making a proper FS app for the iPhone, so it won't be just your iDisk, but all applications will be able to access it. Safari downloads, saving attachments, editing documents, etc. </pipe dream>

Mobile Finder for Jailbroken phones was really nice.

My hope for the iDisk app is that I'll be able to save files to it from Safari and have them put in the cloud. Often I'll run across something that I want to DL, but I can't. I have to bookmark it or hope I remember to check on it at home later, but it would be great to just DL it right away from the iPhone/touch.

OK, THIS is depressing. I'm not so hopeful now.

The only way you won't see the iDisk app is if they remove the feature off the website. As it is I think it's still coming but I wonder how useful it can be. From what I understand there is no uploading. You can't take a work doc from another app and upload it. As long as there is no API for communications between apps, no file structure, and no multitasking the iDisk app will be pretty weak.

As far as I'm concerned, I think this is the remaining wall that keeps the iPhone from becoming a really great smartphone/mobile computing platform. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't seem to care about our being able to edit or create documents on their iPhone, and it's sad because I think an iPhone OS version of iWork would be great and I think MS was even considering putting office on the iPhone.

Hopefully Apples iDisk app goes beyond some of the features that are already available in the iDisk apps.

Googled "iDisk app"

OK, every day (I'm obsessed, I know:eek:) I google "iDisk app". Just a few minutes ago, and THIS popped up, I kid you not,

"MobileMe: About removing the iDisk app from your iPhone/iPod touchJul 20, 2009 ... As with any application downloaded from the App Store, you can safely remove the iDisk app from your iPhone or iPod touch. ...

So, I followed the link, and it said the link wasn't there anymore. So either they are close to releasing it, or they are just continuing to mess with my mind.
Why would they release instructions on how to remove it before they release it???

While the iDisk app sounds great and I have ton's of stuff on my iDisk. I think the iPhone screen is to small to do me much good.... But then again, I am old :)
