Trim Enabler.

Yes I know the software I thought you ment something more than that!!
So you used a third party ssd and updated OS with no issues?

I'm saying this because I'm on a dilemma
Getting a a Samsung ssd and thinking to either use it as internal and main boot drive or use it as an external for mi tunes and iPhoto files
Worrying about trim so not sure what I will do :(

Yup. It worked for me. Whether or not this was a freak accident i couldnt say. But it worked fine for me.

Yosemite 10.10.1 upgrade to External SSD...no problems

I run a slightly different SSD setup than most users. I have a mid-2011 2.5GHZ I-5 Mac Mini booting from a Seagate Thunderbolt sled with a Crucial MX100 256GB SSD. I'm also running Trim Enabler.

I was a little nervous upgrading to 10.10.1 but I just followed the recommended sequence mentioned previously and the installation was flawless...albeit with a few extra steps to disable and enable Trim. Trim Enabler is doing its thing according to System Report.

I keep a full copy of the SSD on the old 5400 rpm internal HDD and upgraded that, too, while everything was in flux. The Mini is very quick with the SSD and Yosemite, and I'm a happy camper.

sorry if this has been said earlier..so apart from TrimEnabler, what patch ar you talking about?
sorry a bit confused here :(

If you launch TE and Trim is turned off, you have TrimEnabler running, and the Patch is not active.

Does anyone know if TRIM Enabler works on a roll your own fusion drive? I have an external thunderbolt setup.
