Shaun, Can you see if Nik works as a plug in with Aperture? I am getting so many mixed messages on this. It appears to work for some and not for others like a lot of things with Yosemite! Thanks
Florian

I've been using Nik for the past week, every day with Aperture 3.6 and OS X Yosemite 10.10. I haven't seen or noticed any issues at all. In fact, I was surprised to see this thread just now so I decided to comment.

I've been using viveza, color efex, Dfine and output sharpener on 16bit TIFFs from Aperture. Even some large panos that are like 550mb Tiffs.

You may want to redownload Nik from Google to make sure you have the latest. I do that every once in a while to see if there's an update by clicking the download link in my purchase email they sent to me when I bought it.

Good luck!

Used Nik for years. Now my preferred plugin set is Perfect Photo Suite. Version 9 of PPS should be released by Friday. I highly recommend doing a trial copy.

Now Compatible with 10.10 Yosemite

Also straight from Nik Support:

The Nik Collection is compatible with the latest OS X Yosemite 10.10 as of our latest update released November 10th, 2014. So, if you update your operating systems before installing the Nik Collection you will not have to reinstall the software after upgrading.

So all is well.

I have yet to upgrade to Yosemite and uncertainty about Nik is one of the reasons why.

What I don't get is why they claim on their website that Nik is compatible with "OS X 10.6.8 through 10.9". I don't want to sound paranoid but if it really is fully compatible with 10.10...why not make the simple update to to their compatibility information.

Peter, I had the NIK Collections and it's latest update prior to going with Yosemite. Actually, I upgraded my computer to a new rMBP and it came loaded with Yosemite. When all of my apps and files transferred via Migration Assistant from my Time Machine and I upgraded to the latest Aperture version, NIK worked just fine, either as a direct plug in or going through PS. I had waited for almost a month before buying the new computer so I followed Yosemite after originally starting this thread and saw that many people were using it so I went ahead with my purchase and test drove Yosemite and NIK and so far so good.

Good to know Florian...thank you. I suppose it's time to just go ahead and upgrade as there are advantages so staying current with the OS.

Funny, there is still a little doubt that gnaws at me when updating an operating system. Of course this is a result of trying to update Windows over the past 20 years. Some things you never forget...like a root canal or a colonoscopy.
