  1. Time Machine broken [just unresponsive while searching]
  2. no way to refresh top sites
  3. unable to resize dock or move it to the sides [greyed out] since I am the Administer why would it tell me only Administers can change the dock settingS.

* I don't use Time Machine so I can't really comment on that.

* I usually just put my fav sites in top sites and then pin them so they are always there, never had to refresh them before. But with Yosemite I've just been sticking with favourites instead of top sites.

* That's got to be a glitch on your end because I can change dock settings no problem including resizing the stock and everything else that goes with customizing the dock. All in all I absolutely love Yosemite, it looks fantastic, its fast, fluid and very responsive. I have had not one single problem with it so far.

Finder constantly crashing and not responding. Can't find a fix at all. Can't access and file. Useless.

Can't clean install Mavericks... i spent 3 days trying.

Maybe if they stopped mucking about with watches and oversizes phones they could have delivered a useful OS.

Next year... iPad Nano. Same size as a iPhone4.

No issues with Finder here. Do you have Adobe CC installed?

IMO, it's all relative. I have yet to see any OS release (either Mac OS X or iOS) that didn't cause problems for some folks.

OS X 10.9: Mavericks - The worst release of OS X to date?
OS X 10.8: Literally the worst OSX ever.
OS X 10.7: Going back to Snow Leopard, Lion worst OS experience ever
OS X 10.6: ...

... you get the idea

I'm sorry that your Mac is having problems. You should be able to use Time Machine to roll back to whatever your previous OS was. Perhaps the 10.10.1 update will help. That first update after a new OS releases seems to fix a lot of the initial issues folks are having.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but what's your setup?

I have Yosemite installed on 2 MacPros and 1 MacMini and I'm having zero issue. Yosemite is rock-solid and fast. I have a lot of audio apps and adobe CC 2014 btw.

A few bugs (whether inherent in the code or due to machine or user error) does not equate to Yosemite being a big mistake.

It can be very frustrating to encounter actual code bugs in an OS. But, having a bug free OS is impossible.

Yosemite is the best ever OS X, in my opinion. It runs great on my 2013 11" MacBook Air--seemingly even faster than Mavericks.

I had a bunch of issues, mostly my own fault. I installed some of the PB's, and GM Candidates over Mavericks. Did a wipe and clean install, and just restored files no apps. So far, so good...

I am running Yosemite on a Mac Pro 2,1

clean install.

and I am having none of the issues being reported. Time Machine is working fine. All of my apps are up to date and working fine. No slow downs. No hang ups. This, so far, is proving to be a very stable release. I also had no problems with Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks that I couldn't solve.

Not one issue here. Loving Yosemite!!!!!

Same here. None of the OP's issues.
Updated from Mavericks without a clean install, on an early 2009 MBP.
Everything working well, including Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom CC.

Also, iTunes 12 has cured the issue where the first second of every song was missed when I Airplay to my ATV 3.

Result!

Easy.

1. Boot with the Command button+r to boot into Recovery Mode.

2. In Recovery Mode select Disk Utility to reformat the drive and then do a reinstall.

3. Wait for it to finish.
