The updated hangouts apk is live. Android police has download links (http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...integration-big-visual-overhaul-apk-download/). The new app lets you make Google Voice calls via data/wifi straight from the Hangouts app via a new Hangouts Dialer.

This morning I used my tethered tablet (Nexus 7) to make a phone call to my office phone.

This is a game changer for people who can't afford their phone service from month to month.

it seems that with the new update, it removed the g voice toggle widget; is there a workaround?
