Unintentionally found a new iOS feature today. Went out to eat, and after eating paid and left. Was pulling out of the parking lot when my Apple Watch alerted me that I left my phone behind.

I turned the car back around and retrieved it.

Very cool feature!

Is this something that needs to be turned on? Or does it only work if you're not at a frequent location? I've walked out of my office without my phone several times and haven't seen anything like this.

I didn't turn anything on. And I didn't get any notifications until I was about a football field away from it.

I am guessing if you leave your phone in your office and go to another office it won't go on since the phone and watch are still on the same wifi network.

Out of curiosity, do you have an Watch with or without a data plan? Trying to determine if this works for Wi-Fi only Watches?

I could’ve used this feature a couple of days ago.

Although I’ve been really happy with Phone Buddy, all I can say is, it’s about damn time. Can’t believe it took this long for Apple to add this.

I read that the Apple Watch will also have support for find items and ***devices***. Can anyone confirm this? Another about damn time feature, why the Apple Watch never before supported the full Find My app.

Find friends and find people? Lol. Must’ve been a mistake but there is an icon there with devices (iPhone and MacBook) and that was precisely what I was taking about. I guess I wanted on screen confirmation from a beta tester. You don’t understand, I’ve been waiting for a full fledged Find My app on the Apple Watch for the longest lol. It only makes sense. Thanks!

I believe he’s making a joke. It should be Find Friends (human icons), Find Devices (Mac & iPhone icons) and Find Items (AirTag icons - circular ones).

it‘s a cool idea but can also be annoying.

Was in work and with being on the railway and work on the tracks, Kept getting warning all day that I left my wallet, car keys and phone behind but they were locked in my locker in the office.
