Today for the first time ever, a message appeared on my iPhone that said:
Passcode Requirement
You must change your iPhone unlock passcode within 37 minutes.




Then I had to enter my old passcode and put a new one in. Is this a 9.3 'feature?' I didn't see anything under settings that says to change it every x days.

Do you have a corporate email server in your settings? Sometimes they have silly restrictions like that. Heck some of them can even disable your camera.
 
I just got the same message, only it said 60 minutes. It's really weird. No exchange accounts or VPNs on mine either, not sure why that would be an issue anyway because it's the phone's actual unlock password.
 
My wife got this yesterday on her iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3 only it said "20 minutes". No exchange accounts or VPN's. I told her to ignore it and nothing happened. It hasn't come back since.
 
I have two exchange accounts, one is for my Office 365 sub, and the other is from organisation. And I never see "passcode change requirement" pop up at any time.
This is weird. Surely.
And I don't think this is a new feature introduced from iOS 9.3. Only possible thought is MDM.
 
Friend at work had this pop up the other day. He had recently downloaded Vshare, and it had installed its own profile. Deleted Vshare and the profile and seems ok now.
 
Something like this is, as others have stated, enforced through a profile by a company that uses either MDM or Exchange servers. A personal email account wouldn't enforce a complex passcode.

Maybe Apple wants to force users to move from the old 4 digit to the more secure 6 digit passcodes.

On the other hand, it seems like this has come up a number of times in a few different threads in the past months with a lot of people not having any profiles or Exchange accounts or anything of the sort.

My wife's phone doesn't have any profiles. And the popup only had the option to change to a 4 digit passcode.
 
My phone has just done this.

iPhone 6 Plus. 9.3. No vans profiles or corporate MDM on it.
 
My 5 on 9.3 did this today. First time I've ever seen it. Didn't actually require me to change the passcode though.
 
my phone did the same thing yesterday, i've ignored it

this morning it FORCED me to change the pass code, and when i try to change the pass code back to the original one it tells me that i cannot as it was previously used
 
I'm almost sure it's a Bug, probably related with the random prompt about TouchID being disabled because the code hasn't been entered in 48 hors (not even half a day had passed on those cases)

I saw a post about the issue you're all having long time ago, since the 9.2 betas, might not be standard iPhone behavior but something inside seems to think otherwise.
I can't think of any solution
