Remember the "unlimited" plan is really 5 GB, not unlimited. I think it'll be easy to hit 5 GB a month with an iPad. But I like that you can do the lower plan first, and then upgrade to the larger plan by paying the difference.

I'll use WiFi as much as possible; my Verizon 3G is true unlimited (I signed up before everybody quietly instituted the 5 GB limit), so I'll use that as much as I can, via sharing through my Mac. I would love a MiFi, but I don't think it has an external antenna jack. If it did, I would get one. I use an external antenna in my trailer (I live in an RV) and it makes a huge difference in performance.

Actually that's wrong in this case. ATT specifically was asked this some weeks ago and they said it is truly unlimited.

Also, I use about 15-20GB per month on my iPhone3G for almost 2 years now without a peep from ATT about it.

I'll be activating it right away with the unlimited plan. I don't have an iPhone or any other smartphone so I will be in "connected" bliss at the beach, roadtrips, etc.

I'm curious to how much data is used listening to Sirius radio.

About a 48Kbs stream. It adds up quick

Is anyone taking the angle of trying a sip client?

I have an 8.35 per month vps plan and i installed asterisk and it runs absolutely great. I am thinking that once iphone os 4 comes out i may just ditch the cell phone altogether in favor of my ipad 3g. The sip clients on my ipad wifi work really well. Gonna have to test it though extensively first to determine how good or bad it works. And i am sure that i will get sucky battery life using it as a sip phone. I also doubt that conversations in the cAr would work. Gonna test it anyway tho.
