...Both of them are virtually the same - low cost / good quality smart cases

Except that the Poetic one has a three panel cover and the Khomo has a four panel cover. My experience is that four panel covers are more stable and make a stronger triangle when you use it as a handle in portrait or typing in landscape.

*edit*

Just noticed that the Mini retina case is three panels as well. The one I have on my Mini 1 is four panels. Bleh to three panel covers.

What is the best affordable keyboard case for the iPad Mini?

Quoted because I also would like to know.

Also, does anyone have the Trident Cyclops case (link)? I have it for my Galaxy S4 Active and I like it. I know that the one for the rMini leaves the display exposed and I would be okay with that.

I also have the Zagg Folio keyboard case, and I switch between that and an Original Dodocase. The Folio lets me get some real work done, while the Dodocase is my presentation/reading/all-purpose case.

Another vote for the poetic slimline. I also bought a keyboard case, don't remember which one it was because I never use it. It more than doubles the width and weight of the rMini.

I have a few cases in my collection, but always come back to 3:
1. My minimalist case is the Moshi versacover. Really a nice case, and has the best portrait mode stand I have seen. Not the best selection of colors. Wish they simply had a black one. But the blue is not bad.
2. My maximum protection case favorite is the BookBook. This is what I use when traveling and the iPad goes into my briefcase. Plus I like the look and feel.
3. On occasion I do use a keyboard case. Really like the clamcase pro for mini retina. Yes, it adds weight, but it also has very nice functionality.
