The keyboard angle you want to use and the lever arm the screen presents will tax any hinge. In my opinion, the hinge on my MBP is already too tight, and at a keyboard angle of 45°, my screen flops down. Why don't you get some gas struts from the liftgate of a Dodge Caravan? Those puppies should hold up the screen.:)

Seriously, someone should make a set of small gas struts that attach to the edge of the screen and main computer body for people that want to use their laptops in weird positions. Just like the gas struts on the Caravan, the struts would keep the screen open at any keyboard angle.

haha Calling the hinge on MBP a problem is highly subjective. I find mine to be perfect. (17") Sure, when I hold it 90° like that it slowly closes, but I never lie down with my computer in 90° over my face. Funny that, I guess I'm the odd user... The problems people manufacture..
Anyway, for all I know your laptop closed when it got a 10° angle, and THEN I'd be supporting you, but seeing how it's supposed to operate on a somewhat level suface I don't support your claim that this is a flaw.
