Hey everon,
I am trying to pick between ziphone and iliberty. I have successfully jailbreaked and activated my iphone through iliberty. I want to unlock it and setup the installer but it reccomends that i downgrade my bootloader to 3.9FB, which i heard is somewhat dangerous because you can't resore back.
Ziphone just says do-it-all, which includes activation jailbreak and unlock, but i already jailbreaked and activated. Can i do it again?

Should i just not downgrade my bootloader in iLiberty?

Thank you,
Tom

Yes

since i'm new to iphone i have a question for you. if i use unlock (on iliberty) on a 1.1.4 otb iphone do i have to select downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9FB?
another question is what do you need payload for?
and do i have to install the bsd subsytem and open ssh programs in order for it to work?

Yes, with you have a 1.1.4 OTB you have 4.6BL and iLiberty will downgrade your BL to 3.9FB . But this is reversible and you can upgrade for 4.6BL again
Payloads installs different software in the iPhone. You don't have to install BSD, but with you don't you will not be able to install most of the programs in install.
SSH allows you to access your iphone via terminal to place command line inputs even with you don't know zip about this you should install it because with you have problems most of then can be fixed using terminal.

I dont wanna bad-mouth any app. But this is my story BTW i'm a complete noob & also an :apple: noob.
I live in South Africa... yes thats in Africa! Got an Ipod Touch 16GB for my bday GLOOOOOORY.
Wifi worked fine, stock was 1.1.2. Upgraded to 1.1.4 used Ziphone

Now! everything works fine but wifi disconnects everytime i quit the app using it & it doesnt reconnect. Have to reset than connect again.
Say i use safari wifi works but as soon as i press home it drops say i then open mail or youtube, wifi is gone! have to reset.

Now tell me did Ziphone permanatly "break" my wifi?? Or is this fixable with software? Restore to factory 1.1.4 doesnt fix the problem.
I wanna cry geeezzz do you know how F@cken hard it is to get a damm ipod or any goddamm :apple: product in AFRICA! for crying out loud! I wanna kick someone in the balls :(

What do you guys recommend for a regular old Jailbreak of a 1.1.4 16GB iPod Touch?

iJailbreak, Ziphone, or iLiberty?

I just used iliberty this weekend to jailbreak only, on windows, and it worked perfectly.

A monkey could jailbreak, unlock, and activate an iphone using this program. Literally all you to is click which of the 3 you want, optionally add installer in the process, and 30 seconds later, you have a liberated iPhone.

EDIT: whoops, I missed the "touch" part. I would assume it works the same, dont know for sure, I thought you had a 16g iPhone.

how..

hi .. i downloaded ziphone on my iphone and if i want to switch to iliberty.. what should i do first.. :) plsss help thanks

Activation trouble

I used iLiberty to jailbreak and activate my 1G iphone and I'm having some trouble. I currently have ATT on another phone. So, I took this SIM card out and put it in the iphone and it says that there is not a valid SIM card installed. The SIM works fine in multiple other phones, but NOT the iphone.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if I'll be able to install the software update v2.0 with a jailbroken/hactivated iphone?

Any help you can offer would be most appreciated!

I think some old SIMs don't work with the iPhone, but I am not 100% sure.
If you used one of the latest versions of it you may revert to apple condition.

Your issue (unless the SIM is like 5 years old!) is most likely just down to it not being correctly inserted into the phone.

Take it out and put it back in and if that doesn't work restart the phone.

As for 2.0 it will work with pwnage on existing iPhones when it is released and the devteam upgrade pwnage.

Hactivation Trouble

I have tried re-inserting the SIM multiple times and resetting the iphone. At least, I've turned it off and turned it back on again. I've restored and tried to jailbreak it again. But still not working.

Since I had the phone activated and then took it off my plan is it possible that ATT has the phone blocked?

Keep the ideas coming please.

Did you try a new SIM card? Maybe you can try someone else's SIM. You can always buy a new SIM.

Folks, please please please try iLiberty before trying ZiPhone (on Mac at least). I got an 8GB iPhone Refurb from AT&T and wish I had known about iLiberty before I tried ZiPhone. While many folks have used ZiPhone to great success, the phone was iBrikt or iKaputt after ZiPhone had done its "magic" on my phone. It was bad.

Somehow, iLiberty brought my iPhone back to life and I'm very thankful for it.

In the end, I wish I had just tried iLiberty in the first place. I'm using T-Mobile
