Hello.
I'm not sure in what category I should put that, but bootcamp is a macos feature, so I try here.
I'm working in a eCommerce & Digital Marketing Agency and some of us are working on iMac with Windows. Currently Windows is on a Bootcamp Partition and we can go back to Macos. I'm wondering...
Hello, world!
This is my first post on the forum here.
I've recently gotten my new (to me) Mac Pro up and running. Next up on the list is to choose a GPU.
I'm on the fence between a 1060 or 1070 for some light 1080p gaming (Skyrim, a few MMORPG, some rounds of Overwatch here or there).
I am...
Hi All,
I apologize in advance if there is another thread with a solution that will fix my problem, however I wasn't able to find a solution for my specific issue.
The time zone in Windows 10 is off when I use Bootcamp on my MacBook Pro running Sierra (Note the issue was there when I was still...
Hi all,
I have a question for any other Bootcamp users out there. I've used Windows on my Mac via Bootcamp for many years; it is not unfamiliar to me. However, after recently upgrading to my new MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) I'm encountering a small but mildly irritating bug.
When in Windows...
Macbook pro 15" mid 2015 on High Sierra (10.13.1)
Recently did a fresh reset to delete previous Windows 10 partition. Tried to install again but Bootcamp displayed an EFI, follwed some online forums to get rid of that problem but nothing worked.
Right now this is what I get.
Any ideas?
I have a feeling it's a conflict with the NVIDIA driver but I was wondering if anyone has found a solution for this?
It's not the adaptive brightness, I've already got that unticked.
The brightness bar moves, however the brightness stays the same.
Greetings,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
So the dream has been to play Fallout 3, New Vegas, Skyrim, et al on a PC with all the mods I can find. But I am a second generation Mac user. So I got a new Mac last year:
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
4 GHz Intel Core i7
32 GB 1867 MHz...
I have a 2016 MBP with Windows 10 installed via Bootcamp.
When i start up it normally boots straight into macOS and if i want to go into windows i just hold down the option button when turning on. HOWEVER, i have turned it on this morning to find it boots straight into windows and holding the...
I have installed Windows 10 on my Mac Pro 4.1 (upgraded to 5.1) in EFI mode, so that I have AHCI enabled.
Windows runs fine, but I have one problem:
I can boot into Windows when I press the ALT-key and select EFI boot, but when I try to boot into Windows with the startup disk selector, I get the...
Hi guys,
So basically I partitioned my harddrive to install Windows 10 via bootcamp but I ran into a problem. It did not install correctly. Now I can’t merge my partitions back together so I can start again. The normal way of doing this is by either deleting the bootcamp partition with...
Need some helping making sure I can do this...
I currently have a mid-2012 MBP non retina. I've upgraded RAM to 8 GB, taken out my disk drive and replaced it with an SSD. I'm running Mac OS on the SSD.
My original drive was partitioned with windows 10 running on only 100 GB. Once I installed...
Hello All,
I tried installing Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 on my MacBook in a Bootcamp partition. It installs just fine, I am able to set it up and install updates, but when I reboot, I can't boot into Windows. It always fails. The install takes about an hour and updates take a couple after that...
I have a MacBook Pro which I'm running with 2x SSD's (One in the drive bay) in raid 0, which runs great.
I would like to install Windows on an external USB or preferably a thunderbolt SDD, has anyone done this?
I have a 1 terabyte hard drive (not ssd) that I use for time machine backups. My MacBook Pro has a 256 gig ssd and I'd rather not make that any smaller. Right now, I'm booting windows off a usb3.0 thumb drive, but there's not much I can install, owing to its size. I was wondering if it'd be...
Wonder if anyone could help, as I not sure what questions I need to ask.
When installing High Sierra I decided to go for a complete reinstall so backedup, deleted my bootcamp partition and created bootable usb of High Sierra. Install went fine. I then tried to recreate bootcamp for a windows 7...
So guys I've been having this issue with my Macbook for almost a year and a half now.
The thing randomly shuts down when it is not plugged in to a second screen, weirdly enough, it runs for days when I run it using Windows X.
I've tried everything - wiping OS and installing new, checking to...
Hello, I have a macOS High Sierra partition, file format used is APFS encrypted. (FileVault is shown as activated in system preferences, that gives APFS the encryption?).
If I now create a bootcamp partition and lets say get a virus there on Windows 10, is the Mac partition safe?
It is indeed...
Subject about covers it. I'm running into errors trying to create a partition, as are many others. Has anyone had any success getting a clean Boot Camp install up and running in High Sierra?
I had Boot Camp running fine beforehand, but ran into install issues, and on a hunch based on logs...
Hello,
This article states that:
Boot Camp doesn't read from or write to APFS-formatted volumes, but is compatible with High Sierra.
I am not sure what this exactly means. I have already created Boot Camp partition while on Sierra, and I am wondering can I upgrade to High Sierra and still use...
I have a Windows machine that had a component failure (GPU), and seeing as the entire Windows drive is contained on a single SSD (which I can slot into one of my external USB cases) I was wondering if it would be possible for me to plug that into an iMac and boot it somehow as a Windows...
