Got a M1 Air few months back for work, and it's incredible. Only problem?
When I connect it to any 1920x1080 monitor via HDMI the text is pretty fuzzy, which I can't have as I write a lot for work.
I figured a 4k monitor would fix this, but I need to be sure the text won't be fuzzy AT ALL...
Hi all- appreciate your opinion on this. I'm using a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro (13"). Love it. I move all over the house. I do, however zoom often and work from my desk. For that setup I fire up my older 21.5" Imac I5 (Late 2012). Unfortunately you cannot use this particular (newer) Macbook with...
Hi guys!
I just switched jobs and changed from a 16" MacBook Pro to the 13" one. The old one was from March, so not very old. I have a Sony TV as my external monitor and it worked perfectly with the old MacBook. But after changing to the new one I have issues rendering things that are red...
So basically my mid-2012 unibody mbp 13" has some issues with the displayport. It works and I can use a monitor with it, but when it goes to sleep mode and then comes back on, the monitor doesn't show anything as if it's still in sleep mode. The monitor is being detected and does show under...
Hello Everyone,
Thanks to ReFind, I have finally managed to install Windows 10 on my Early 2011 MBP. Everything is working fine, except that my external monitor, connected via mini display port, is not recognised under Windows 10. The graphics driver is up to date. The external monitor works...

My Macbook air M1 works fine with my AOC 27G2G4 monitor but my Samsung s27r35x turns on for 5 seconds then blank screens. The MacBook recognises the monitor is attached but the monitor is clearly in standby (flashing blue light).
It is odd. The monitor seems to "crash". It can only switch...
Hi everyone,
First post here so looking forward to any input. After loads of research I'm still unsure about what monitors to get for my MBP. I've looked online at the evidence for a 110ppi monitor. That basically narrows it down to either a 24inch 1080p or 27 inch 1440p. The third option would...
Hi All!
Long time windows users transitioning to Mac. Old setup was a Dell Latitude hooked up to a Dell Ultrasharp U2415, one at home, and the other at work (laptop carried to and fro).
Bought a M1 Macbook Air, and am absolutely thrilled with the performance, and with the fluidity of the...

Hey everyone,
I have a 2016 MBP 15" running 10.14.4 and a new Samsung 28" UR55 monitor. My current setup is my monitor connected via HDMI through my Satechi hub on the left of my Mac.
I understand that my specific Mac doesn't support 4k 60hz out of the box and I'm ok with that atm since I...
Hi. I’ve been searching for this on various forums for a while now and not quite sure yet before I make a purchase.
I have the following:
2010 MacBook Pro 15 inch
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB
Intel HD Graphics 288 MB
I love my old Mac and the fact that I'm...
I have a 13" Macbook Pro 2017 version, no security chip. Initially I just connected with a Philips 32" 2K monitor (model BDM3270) via a usb-c to HDMI dongle, all good! Then I bought another Philips 32" 4K monitor (model 328P6VU) with USB-C docking capability, and connected with my Macbook Pro via...
Hello and sorry! Sorry if this topic has already been discussed or is currently being discussed. I would be grateful if you would share with me the links to these sections.
So, I am currently researching these two models (head). I will use one of them for work, mostly text editing while a large...
It's an older (2010) 15" MacBook Pro I still own which keeps astounding me on how excellent it still runs after all these years, (I am not a gamer though).
The only problem is it's manifesting some GPU glitches sometimes, like when opening some big sized PNG images on Preview (not always...
I have a 1986 Mac Plus M0001A. I was one of a few Graphic Designers to use a Mac Plus in NYC to produce my work on a Mac Pus. At the time the screen was to small to do any meaningful work (in Pagemaker), so I had a company wire it to connect to a 21" B/W monitor. I have read that the Mac Plus...
I'm looking for a 5K 27" computer monitor but it seems there is literally only one option on the market: the LG/Apple UltraFine 5K 27" display.
I prefer this resolution at this size because it amounts to 220 PPI, which is 'Retina' (HiDPI) at macOS's native integer scaling.
Apparently there...
Since the first 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display was released in 2014, Apple discontinued Target Display Mode for those models going forward. This was due to various technical limitations that were never overcome -- until today (potentially), with the release of the updated iMac 5K with the...
Hi guys,
three months ago I leaved my home to stay with my parents during the lockdown, leaving behind my external monitor (the complete setup is in my signature). Today I have returned to my home and I discovered that if I set the refresh rate of my external monitor to 144Hz from 120Hz in...
