Yesterday I replaced the battery on my MacBook Air 13" mid 2012 with a replacement from a reputable battery reseller, and performed a "calibration". Today I charged it up to 100% and used it during the day, up until 3.30 pm. At that time the battery level was at 38%. I simply left the computer...
Early 2008 MacBook Pro. Yes I know it is a dinosaur but with a hard drive SSD upgrade it has been a trooper all these years. I want to ask about a new situation that has never happened before:
This happens lately when I put my Mac to sleep either manually or by closing the cover. I usually...
Hi,
I've got a MacBook Pro with a seemingly defective battery indicator light (part 922-9523), which I had to disengage due to the MacBook not noticing the battery (this might be due to a faulty SMC, but I've ordered a new indicator light to see if it fixes the problem). However, after...
I'm on a 5K 27" iMac (late 2015) running OS 10.11.5
For a long time (dating back to my 2011 iMac), I noticed that the screen wouldn't stay off but would randomly turn back on and stay on. I would use the hot corner to turn off the screen and have energy settings set to allow screen to sleep...

For a long time I have been wondering what exactly does my rMBP do when I close the lid, unlike Windows based laptops, it doesn't give you the option to choose what it would do, I noticed that when I close the lid and re open it in a short time it comes on faster than if I re open it after a...

Hi!
I've read through lots of forums with this problem but can't seem to find a solution.
My Late 2009 Mac Mini, running OSX Version 10.11.4, apparently randomly stopped sleeping...it took me a while to notice it but probably started happening about 3 weeks ago.
Whether I...
** UPDATE ** The "sleep" under the apple menu works! Choosing it to put to sleep has no adverse impacts -- only the Power Saving and the Sleep Hot Corners disconnect my power and TB Display. ***
I have a 15" Macbook Pro Retina early 2013, 2.7, i7 with 16GM and 256 SSD. I have an external 27"...
I went overseas and I left my iMac on, with computer and display sleep settings, set to NEVER for three weeks straight.
Now that I checked it again everything seems OK but I am worried that some hidden damage or overheating might have been caused to the computer parts.
Has anyone the same...
I'm needing to access my macbook pro (work computer) from home via chrome remote desktop. I'll need to make sure the MBP doesn't go to sleep so I can do this. Any ideas on a safe way to do this?? Unchecking "Put hard disk to sleep when possible"?

Ever since I've updated to El Capitan my iMac no longer goes automatically to sleep. I've made sure everything is turned off appropriately. I zapped my PRAM and I unplugged my computer for 15 seconds. Can somehow help?

I just got my new 27" 5K iMac and it's awesome. But one issue that I'm seeing is that the Mac is not staying asleep. I usually manually put it to sleep and it does go to sleep. But the next morning, I see that it was woken itself up during the night. I know that also because I get a ton of...
Hi everyone,
I have an upgraded G4 Cube with a (tower) Sonnet 1.2GHz 7455 CPU, a 200GB / 7200rpm Seagate HDD and 1.5GB RAM, and recently upgraded the graphics card to an XFX 6200 'WANG'. It has the black PCB and seems to be the recommended 6200 upgrade. I also tracked down and fitted the...

So this probably sounds like the inverse of a problem lots of people might have, but I was wondering if there was any way to wake my MacBook from network access without it actually fully waking up/ enabling the display output?
This is because I use my Mac closed with an external display, but...
