I have just received my iMac2019, 1TbSSd, Vega 48 and have a couple of issues.
When I first updated to latest Mojave, it wouldn't even turn back on, but after a bout 3 hr it seems to boot itself and seems to be ok now. But it does take > 30 seconds to boot, is this normal for Mojave? My 2013...
Walked into my office this morning to the sounds of a gentle fan. Felt the trashcan, very warm. What is going on? I'm on the latest version of Mojave. It's weird because when I am in windows 10 via bootcamp, it actually goes to "cold" sleep no probs.
Anyone have similar problem? Thanks!
Hi there
Since I bought my new setup (2018 MBP 15 w/ Radeon 560X, CalDigit TS3+, 2x LG 4k monitors) last year I've been seeing some weird behaviour, and I'm wondering if anybody else sees the same thing.
When my laptop is connected to my 2 screens via the dock, when the machine turns off the...
I put the computer to sleep, when I try to wake it clicking the mouse a relay clicks from the back of the computer where the power supply is, but the hard drive doesn't spin up, I put my hand on the drive. I tried booting from my backup drive with the same results. I press and hold the front...
I just bought a new MacBook with Touch Bar and when ever I'm watching something, or the Touch Bar is left inactive, it dims and sleeps which is really annoying to me.
Is there any terminal command or apple script through which I can disable this feature. I searched all the settings and it isn't...
Hey guys,
when I eject USB drives on my MM2018 the drives spindown after eject as expected,
but then they just spin up again (staying unmounted from the OS tho).
Never happened on my other Macs, is it happening on yours too?
Thx!
Hi,
Yesterday I bought a new macbook pro 13 touchbar 2018.
1.-The macbook had the battery discharged, I had to start it with the charger. Is this normal?
2.- When I'm using it, it goes into sleep mode. It has happened 2 times. I have reviewed the energy options and they are for 15 minutes, and...
Hi guys,
I owns several Powermac G5. There's one particular Powermac G5 2.0 DP 2003 model that has been working fine for a few months. It was running really well until one day when I thought everything was fine, one of a new intern that has assigned to this system reported to me that the Mac...
Hi,
Recently got a i7/256/8gb 2018 Mac mini. It's my first Mac after years of PC use (and working in Windows IT Support). Slowly getting used to it, and so far I am liking it, and like the way it just seems to work / integrate with my iPhone (messages, photos etc).
I wanted to check power...
I have some applications that will basically be a PITA if I turn this computer fully off. I'm currently allowing the system to sleep at the moment. At some point I will need to restart.
How can I save and resume everything? I would like to see the programs I am using right now to be in the...
I believe this usually happens after connecting an EGPU, but I have noticed instances of when I haven't used an EGPU all day and it still fails to sleep after closing the lid.
This is a huge problem because sometimes I would close the lid and immediately stick it in my bag. When I grab my...
Hi, Sorry if I'm barking up the wrong tree as I'm not up to speed on tech.
I have an early 2009 iMac with 8mb memory running El Capitan (the latest OS it will take).
Recently start-up has been a problem: it takes ages, especially after a crash when each app gets a spinning cog. I've slimmed...
I have a 27" iMac from late 2009. It has a 2.8 Ghz Intel core i7 processor, 8GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, and an ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB graphics card/chip. It has a 1 TB SATA HD of which about 687GB is available. The OS is High Sierra (10.13.6). I essentially leave it turned on 24/7, and for a...
I already have "Wake for network" and "Power nap" disabled but my iMac is constantly now waking up from sleep. Approximately at 30mn intervals. Did not happen under High Sierra.
The logs say these two are the reason:
AppleACPIPlatformPower Wake reason: XHC1
and
AppleACPIPlatformPower Wake...
Since upgrading my router (it's my ISP's standard, nothing fancy), every time I open my MBP's lid, I can see it connected to my Wi-Fi, but there's no internet access.
The workaround is pretty simple, turn Wi-Fi off and then right back on. But it's getting old fast.
I've been trying to find out...
I'm wondering if there is a programatic way (AppleScript or terminal command, etc) to disconnect my eGPU box. Whenever my Mac goes to sleep then when I wake it I get the "you didn't disconnect your GPU before unplugging it" error (that is not the exact message) and I would like to fire...
DISREGARD THIS POST! PROBLEM NOT SOLVED! ... if Apple presents a new mini this fall, chances are I'll switch. I'm so fed up with this recurring problem. >:-(
Original post:
I had posted in a few threads, warning people of the problem I had with connecting the mini via DP / Thunderbolt. After a...
My classic Mac Pro eight core (5,1 flashed) running 10.13.6 and with Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad had been running fine until a few days ago, when it started failing to wake up from sleep. Just prior to my noticing this, it displayed another, possibly related, anomalous behavior upon...
This doesn't happen frequently but it does happen often enough to ask about. If I leave my Macbook Pro on, closed, idle (and asleep) for a few hours or more sometimes I open it up to find that it has shut down. This happens even if the battery is at or close to 100%.
I'm on mm2012 and old -keyboard with eject button.
Mini will sleep with com+opt+eject, but if I try to redefine that in sysPrefs->KB->shortcuts->Services->Text(wtf?)->"Put Computer To Sleep" to eg.F13, I just hear the alert sound.
Can sleep butten be redefined at all?
