It's probably an innocuous bug but I'm worried that it could be a side-effect of a malware/hack and that the update is not genuine. It has been like this for a few months (I haven't updated past 14.4 because of it) so if it's a bug then it would be surprising that Apple hasn't fixed it... -

An error occurred while trying to check for an update
Everytime I try and check for an update in settings > general > software update, it just tells me an error occurred while trying to check for an update. Never had this happen before. Currently on 15.2, trying to update to 15.4. Anyone else seeing this?- humpbacktwale
