and are able to use Installer.app.

Step 2: Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update

1. Launch Installer.app
2. Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)
3. Select OktoPrep
4. Click Install

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 3: Update to 1.1.2

1. Connect your device to your computer
2. Launch iTunes
3. Choose your device
4. Click Update
5. Wait forever for your device to update

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 4: Jailbreak your iPod Touch or iTunes activated iPhone

1. Close iTunes
2. Connect your device to your computer
3. On Windows, double click on windows.bat, on Mac, double click on osx
4. Follow the on screen instructions.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download:
http://rapidshare.com/files/69521527/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

to get the iPhone apps on your newly jailbroken 1.1.2 just click on "sources in the installer app and then tap "edit" then "add" and type in repo.us.to so the whole address reads "http://repo.us.to". then add the source and let it refresh it.

Then the iPhone apps should show up in the installer menu. Then its as easy as installing any other app.

hope this helped.
luke.

From a later post:
if you have problems running osx file on Mac or .bat file on a PC - then double click on "jailbrake.jar" - if you have problems with that go to www.java.com and download and install Java for your computer.

Windows users don't forget to close all running processes containing "ipod" or "itunes" in a name (Vista users - in Task Manager don't forget to click on "show processes of all users" or smth like that) BEFOUR running the jailbrake

i just get hung up on the run windown.bat part, the command prompt windows pops up, then dissapears, i have quit ALL itunes stuff and it dosent work, do i need something installed?

unfortunately it just happened to me too )

it just stops on one of those number things and then doesnt do anything.

just had to do a full restore ):

i'm now at 1.1.1 jailbroken
i was wonderin if all the apps that worked on 1.1.1 work on 1.1.2??
also
i've had the jailbroken 1.1.1 for a long time
and i have all my customized crap in it
so do i have to restore my ipod first then jailbreak it again then update?? or can i just update from wat i have now without restoring??

o ya
where is window.bat??

for me all the apps (custimize the only exception) work for me, and all the iphone apps work

its in the zip you have to D/L

o yeah, and BTW, your now my hero for this! my pod is officially ballin!

Where's 1.1.1 - need to start over

The process failed for me. It looped forever in the code lock state, so I had to restore to 1.1.2. Do I need to restore to 1.1.1 to start over? Where do I get 1.1.1?

if i use the "wonder" automatic www.jailbreakme.com it flipping goes and blocks you logging into your ipod to manually change files!!

SO ANNOYED!!!!

I assume step 3 can be done simply by using opt+click and pointing iTunes to a downloaded firmware 1.1.2?

well then.
tonight officially sucked.
at the start of the night i hade an awesome ipod which was jailbroken with all the iPhone apps and everything
i had customised the layout and everything.
then i tried to do the 1.1.2 jailbreak but it failed (got stuck)
didnt know why, nothing was working so i restored.
later found out it was because of the java being out of date!!!
so now i have to start all over again.

got it working now though :p

f all that I'm str8 with blowing my IPt up safari runs fine for me a Lil slow but not worth loosing all the stuff I have done

extracting folders?

when i open the windows.bat a window pops up that says the program has to extract the files to run properly... but this takes like an hour and a half... do i need to do that?
sry im a noob.
any help would be appreciated.

WaHooo ... I did it. Had to restore 2-3 times and start over, but I did it! Installing the iPhone apps right now!

yes you have to run that, its the jailbreak for the pod

I didn't use the osx file, I opened the .jar file on my Macbook Pro. It comes up with a nice gui and jailbroke it. Takes a good 5-10 mins for the process, then my iPod kept getting the spin thing. After about 10 minutes I just restarted it and wala, it was jailbroken :)

it doesn't "block you" from anything... you just need to re-install SSH... With no SSH how do you expect cuteftp or other progs to read it????
In short, go to installer, install SSH... and "flippin" log into your ipod

Didn't really work for me...

I did the Prep using OctoPrep, and it said it worked, then did the updated and it failed the update.... So... Restore back to 1.1.1 and re-jailbroke -- re-octoprep.. Upgrade to 1.1.2 and when i run the 1.1.2 JailBreak application it doesn't work, says it cannot talk with the iPod Touch.

That being said, i'm on a fully upgraded Leopard OS X so perhaps that's the reason.. For now i'm backing off to 1.1.1, until this is perfected -- like others I had REALLY customized stuff, and getting the iPhone app's back on my device is a pita.
