my old mac laptop 12' inch came with a cloth. i think all laptops came with a grey cloth.

I meant currently. My 13" MBP didn't come with one. Afaik, only the Touch comes with a cleaning cloth now.

But, it does make sense to include them with touch screen devices, doesn't it? No biggie... I've got lots of cleaning cloths from various cases, etc that I can use.

I don't have my Ipad yet so I can't say what makes it awful yet

but i expected to see the earphones and the cloth why because my mbp came with one as well as my imac

So the lack of a tiny little piece of fabric automatically makes it "awful"?

If this is the "#1 reason" to complain about the iPad, then I'd say it's a pretty dang good product :)

i dont understand... your macs came with a cleaning cloth? mine didn't...

13", 2.53ghz, 4gb unibody... bought it last year.

im gonna check my box, maybe i missed it.

Mine always have, in a flat, plastic envelope with the docs.

I think all iMacs and Mac displays come with the cloth, but not the laptops, minis or Pros.

I got one with my cinema display and it was a NICE microfiber cloth! I was disappointed they didn't include one along with the iPad :)

Some of you guys get very overtly critical about some posts.

I got a good chuckle out of this when I actually read it. When I saw the title I said to myself "oh boy, another iPad hater telling me why I shouldn't spend my hard earned money on a product I like". I'd much prefer a post like this rather than a post I thought it would've been.

Actually...

I know it can be ugly with all the smudges on the screen while turned off, but turn on the screen, and it looks great! Once the screen is on, you can't even see the smudges. And if it bothers you too much, the belly rub as someone else suggested works fine.

it may not seem like a big deal... but considering every other apple product with a screen comes w/ one, its really messing w/ my brain.

not only that, but its a touch screen. I mean... DUH apple. And it gets way more fingerprints than any screen i've ever seen.

I'm just not content with the glossy screen. Shows off too many fingerprints.

I beg to differ. Those smudges and fingerprints are horribly noticeable when using the iPad... especially when scrolling through web pages, etc... I can see them sitting there on the surface while the background graphics scroll through. Not the end of the world, but a little bit annoying. At least the screen is easy to clean.

x2.

I was also a bit disappointed that there's no cloth with my iPad, I was expecting one too! But I have eyeglasses so I have a few of those things lying around so I just grabbed one to use for the iPad. No problem :)

I guess its a business strategy. if it gets scuffed and worn, u'll be encouraged to replace it with the new generation next year ;)

It honestly wouldn't matter if it came with one or not, as they don't do much good.

Seriously, those cloths just push the oils from your fingerprints around & around on the screen. You may think opts clean, but look it at it under the light.

It NEVER comes clean unless you use some kind of glass cleaner. A screen protector helps too.
