had the same with my 10.5" when i turned it on. will check at home if it occurs with every turn on or if it was a one time experience. flickering was noticeable with thin white lines just under apple logo but only for a second or so...

otherwise screen is perfect without bleeding etc.
I actually have this case in my shopping cart. But, the only two reviews say it's not properly aligned with the camera.

Yep they will replace it. If needed I can "adjust" the hole with a dremmel and hit is with a map torch to smooth it back out. It is all a temp solution, I hope.

Odd because every time I've rented a car with Enterprise, they walk the car with you noting every dent, ding, etc.
They're the reason I do this now.

Enterprise did that after I dropped it off, and noted that there was a small scratch on the passenger door that they attest wasn't there before. They were more than happy to charge me $500 for that, and having a plane to catch, were at an advantage.

I never rent from them, either in a professional (I travel 15-20 times a year for work) or personal manner.

It took one incident, 14 years ago, to rob them of over $3000/year of revenue for a $75 fix.

Hoping but Apple usually has these accessories ready even before the device. Hope they had a problem and it is a little late but it could very well be there is no Apple back cover, only a front cover.
$4-5 production cost(pure guess). $49-$69 sales cost to consumer AND the 10.5 REQUIRES a different sized case bottom and cover. Can't imagine they throw away high profit margin sales.

My issue is the yellow screen (once again). My 9.7 ipp had a beautiful white background, making text really pop out. My 10.5 ipp is very dingy. The attached pic is at full brightness on both.

Yikes

Ive had two units, neither yellow tint

But both had the right yellow edge like yours does as well

And ultimately weird off axis appearance,

Returned them back to my 9.7

Gonna wait this out/skip this gen

I turned Trutone On/Off a few times.

Your picture as an example... Left TT ON, Right TT Off.

I'm sure most of these units are fine and most will have near perfect displays, but early production can plague some displays. I tend to wait a month or two before I actually purchase new hardware, just avoid any on coming first issues with the demand.

My first iPad pro 10,5 that I bought yesterday at an Apple Store in Germany had scratches on the screen right out of the box. Were only visible in certain angles but that was a no-go. Exchanged it in the store immediately and the replacement seems fine so in this regard.

However, twice since using it for half a day now the screen became completely unresponsive. It would not detect any touch input at all. Pressing the power button twice solved this issue. Hope that is a software glitch.

Where in Germany did you pick it from ? Which city store ?

Yes and that's why I'm still sitting on the fence. Expecting to buy around September. I've waited this long so a bit longer won't hurt me, I hope.;)

As soon as I got my new shiny iPad 10.5 I restored it from my iCloud backup and it seemed ok. But after a while it stared to freeze now and then when scrolling through app pages. Very annoying!

So I restored it as a new iPad and now everything is perfect. Was a pain installing all my apps again but now only installing them as I need them.

Unfortunate (for them, it would seem), as you hold a grudge well. :)

Well, if they were the only one at an airport, I'd go to them, but take video of the car before and after renting it.

Could you keep the thread on-topic please? Although your car rental issues sound very intriguing, they actually have nothing to do with the iPad Pro 10.5 :)

Oh and yes, I _might_ have an issue: I posted about it elswhere but long story short, there _might_ be an issue with pencil in apps like OneNote when comparing my old 9.7 and new 105 units.

I would be grateful to anyone with a pencil who would like to install OneNote to test this on their 10.5...

Is the chassis really that weak? It should withstand being in a bag and all right?

Just my opinion, but these videos Of iPads and dropping them down 5 feet on concrete, are ridiculous. Nobody treats their iPads like this and it's common sense to manage your iPad effectively with the proper case and use caution. What would somebody expect with such a thin device that hits concrete, of course it will shatter or break.

I have both 9.7" & 10.5" and the Pencil, as well, a subscription to Office 365. Just opened OneNote and I was able to use my pencil as with my 9.7".
No issues but you have to kill keyboard when initially starting a new note, even using the Pencil to choose 'draw', but that's on both

Cool... but how do pencil strokes look... are they really the same on both devices? If you put the zoom to 100%, write something and then zoom in on the text, does it look shaky?

No worries! It was germane to the conversation at the beginning, as I was using that as a syllogism to the OP and their problem with the bent iPad, and the construct of the discussion was that s/he should review the new iPad when opening it in front of the Apple employees.

I actually like them. If someone is going to spend close to $1000 on an iPad, then destroy it, I'd at least like to see what it took to do so, so I know the margin of safety. For this one, I'll at least have a case on it, so if it does slip out of my hands at work (I work in an airplane factory with cement floors), I can know that I do need the protection on it.

My iPad Pro 10,5" screen seems not only yellowish, but also slightly washed out and not really as sharp compared to the iPad Air 2 (the white one). Plus the 10.5" Pro lacks contrast. Why does this screen get hyped so much?!

[doublepost=1504555360][/doublepost]You have to see it with your own eyes. This picture does not really show it.

It’s safe to say there have been more QC issues with this iPad model than any other in the past few years. I don’t know the reason for it, but it is the biggest reason for my sticking with the 9.7 Pro.

No, it's not "safe to say" that at all. You're going off of anecdotal evidence on the Macrumors forums, which always produce the same set of complaints for every new Apple device:

--My screen has a weird tint.
--I bent mine. It's too fragile!
--My iPad is scratched out of the box.
--My battery seems faulty.

These pop up every year. Some have merit, some are people just being super nitpicky. Either way, it does not signal widespread issues with the iPad Pro.
