No, it's not "safe to say" that at all. You're going off of anecdotal evidence on the Macrumors forums, which always produce the same set of complaints for every new Apple device:

--My screen has a weird tint.
--I bent mine. It's too fragile!
--My iPad is scratched out of the box.
--My battery seems faulty.

These pop up every year. Some have merit, some are people just being super nitpicky. Either way, it does not signal widespread issues with the iPad Pro.
There have been far, far more complaints about this iPad than other models (nitpick or not). I do find it sad that people, like the OP, come here to get advice on what to do with their defective device and they get replies like "Well my iPad Pro is perfect blah blah blah."

Again--no statistical evidence of this whatsoever.

I had to go through 14 units to hit the jackpot but it waas sooo worth it. The 10.5 is the best ever. I can definitely say their screens have super low standarts as far as uniformity goes but everything else is impeccable.

It´s true that some of these complaints surface regularly, but for a good reason. Buyers who spent their hard-earned cash on these devices don't make these things up. Things like yellowish tints, scratches and faulty batteries (I once had one in a MacBook Pro that was completely dead on arrival!) should not happen at all with devices that are so expensive.
The issue I have with my iPad Pro 10.5" is also to be taken seriously. The display of the iPad Pro 10.5" that is so overhyped that you cannot even find anything negative about it, even if you thoroughly search the web, a screen like this should live up to the hype. And it doesn't. This lack of sharpness and the dull, yellowish colors are getting on my nerves.

If it needed 14 units, it is the worst ever IMO.
What?? 14 units!! LOL. This is sad.

[doublepost=1504595982][/doublepost]"Everything else is impeccable"? I can't say that. I tested three iPad Pro 10.5" screens so far and all of them were yellowing not sharp at all. This should not happen at all, considering the high price.

Yeah. 14 units??! This is crazy.

It’s safe to say there have been more QC issues with this iPad model than any other in the past few years. I don’t know the reason for it, but it is the biggest reason for my sticking with the 9.7 Pro.
I haven’t seen evidence to support this at all.

I’ve just seen more posts about issues on these and other forums about the 10.5 than I have about previous models. I don’t know why people are getting so defensive about it. You got a unit without problems - congratulations. Not everyone did. But you don’t need to come on here and rigorously defend it and say anyone who has issues with theirs is “nitpicky” or “occessive compulsive.”

The problem threads for this iPad are exactly like all the others I've ever seen for any iPad. It's like clockwork at this point.

There are 3 possible scenarios:
  1. A person reports a non-existent issue (either deliberately misleading or an honest mistake)
  2. A person reports a legitimate issue they are experiencing
  3. A person reports an issue (that is legitimate to them) but is only an issue because of their anal-retentiveness.
In their attempts to combat #1 and #3, Apple defenders often end up throwing #2 into the mix.

It's important for this online community to identify posts that fall into #1. It's helpful to put #3 into the proper perspective so that others who read their complaints and have the same standards can make an informed decision.

It's vital to identify and acknowledge true issues. Sadly, every online forum has their share of blind defenders. To them, it doesn't matter how many others report having the problem. They won't believe it. Should the number and loudness of complaints be enough for Apple to acknowledge that the problem exists, and Apple offers a solution, THEN they'll say, "see Apple is taking care of it, no need to complain!" (ignoring the fact that they resisted the existence of the problem all along.)

and so it goes.

The question is not whether or not the issues are legitimate. The question is if there are more than usual. I'm sure most people that come here to express an issue are not going to waste their time posting a fake story just for fun. But to claim that there are more issues than usual with the 10.5" iPad Pro based solely on the Macrumors forums is complete lunacy.

I don’t recall accusing anyone of being “nit picky” or “occessive [sic] compulsive.”

This is a public forum where people exchange their individual opinions and ideas though, right?

@sracer , thank you for differentiating “OCD” and “anal retentiveness.”

My 10.5 is flawless. The only thing I dislike is that I can not get an Apple bottom cover and having to use a third party cover instead. As much as Apple charges for the covers, you would think they would have them for sale.

Get a vaja case it's expansive but it's amazing quality, I got the full back and front case but there is a back only one..

When I said “you” I was referring to another group of people not you yourself. I also agree that people shouldn’t be throwing around the term OCD for people who are anal-retentive or simply experience issues with their iPad, there is a big difference.

However, twice since using it for half a day now the screen became completely unresponsive. It would not detect any touch input at all. Pressing the power button twice solved this issue. Hope that is a software glitch.
Hi
I have exactly the same issue with my ipad pro 10.5. Any ideas what should i do with it?

First thing I did when the WWDC Conference ended was preorder the 10.5-inch iPad Pro 256GB Wifi in Space Gray. I decided to go with Space Gray this time around for the black bezels. Now I prefer white bezels as I have the 9.7-inch iPad Pro but since the bezels on the new iPad are so thin I thought the black would look the best. Well upon receiving my iPad yesterday of course I opened it up and turned it on. But I became a bit worried as the iPad was not turning on. I tried again and it did but as soon as the Apple logo lit up I saw this white static looking line flash across the black of the screen. So I went and set it up and immediately hated how the black bezels looked with the vibrant wallpapers and colors of iOS. I then turned it off and back on a few more times with the same white static line flashing in different parts upon every single startup. This is officially made my decision to head to my local Apple Store last night right before they closed to exchange it for the Gold one. But upon opening this one I noticed slight backlight bleeding coming from the bottom of the screen along with a fine scratch on the chamfered edge above the charging port. Also for some reason I think the speakers sound slightly muffled compared to the 9.7 iPad Pro. I'm most likely just going to be keeping this one as I know their are much bigger problems I could have. Now I might sound a little OCD but if I'm paying nearly $1,000 for a tablet in my opinion it should be nearly flawless. All I can say is Apple's quality control really sucks. Anyone else have any of these problems?

Paragraphs, my friend. Paragraphs.
