I went Silver/White this time.

Because it kinda matches my MacBook Pro and my "free" work iPhone 7 which is also white. :D

Every other iDevice i have had since the iPhone 3G has been black or space grey, so this is a bit of a novelty for me.

but no way as a guy am I getting rose gold anything.
Rene Ritchie of iMore always gets rose gold products and he doesn't seem to have an issue. He's also a black belt in Brazilian Jujitsu

I have a rose gold case for my iPhone and I have no qualms being a guy with Rose gold

I'm never buying either GOLD or ROSE GOLD because i think it looks tacky. It's not jewellery, it's a computing device. The watch can kinda get away with that sort of thing as it's sort of jewellery, but I'd never buy a gold or rose gold watch either.

Each to their own though i suppose...

Well, I decided and ended up getting what the last posts hated :p Rose gold. Online it looks pink, but in reality, it’s more like goldish copper, which looks pretty neat (though I like crazy colors for tech myself). Not what you’d call “girly” at all.

Space grey because black bezels.

I could transfer to product red though if only they were made for the iPad and if they had black bezels.
Would be awesome if Apple were to offer some customising when ordering the products directly from them. Choosing the colour for the back as well as the front of the device. Shouldn't be impossible even considering how huge the demand is. It's a bit like a big car manufacturer or Nike ID

i used to be all about the black bezel but was time for a change and i'm actually liking the white. both the iphone 7 and ipad pro are white, everything else has been black or space grey. other than my macs.

Aesthetically I prefered the silver, but I chose space grey... For watching movies I prefer to have a dark frame, I think of myself on a plane with the shades drawn watching a movie, the silver would "frame" the movie while with the space gray I would only see the screen ... Think of going to a movie theater and having a white frame around the screen ... would you like that?

Add me to Space Grey, mainly because of the black bezel.

There actually isn't any grey to be seen because the back of my 10.5 is snug in a black "carbon fiber" skin from Phantom Skinz.

With the ASK attached, it's a stealth iPad.

I am surprised that we care about the back color of the iPad; I mean, aren't we just going to cover that with an ASK or a third party cover that has our actual favourite color?

Those are my thoughts. As much as I like the iPad colors, I don't even see the backing, as I have a cover on mine. So theoretically, the only real consideration is the bezel color. Unless you're somebody that does not use a case on their iPad, which most likely do use cases.

Most yes, but plenty of us only use an ASK or ASC and don't cover the back because we like the look and feel of the iPad as designed.

The other exception I see are transparent cases, but I have not found any good ones that can protect the 12.9 well; the last one I used resulted in scratches for my 1st Gen 12.9, thus losing some resale value :(

The only issue I have with transparent cases, is they tend to scuff and can look cheap rather quickly depending how damaged they get.

As I am shopping for cases, I came to another realisation: It is easier to turn your bezels into black with the right casing (e.g. Otterbox Defender) than into white.

Maybe that is why white bezels are more popular due to such flexibility?

My concern is solely with the black border you see when you get a white bezel iPad. For that reason, I have to get Space Grey
