@All who are already on DP4: Did you encounter any bugs yet? (except the known installation issue)
I just installed it, everything seems to work like charm.

I also have issues with Safari in full screen mode. It loses the tab bar and the bookmarks bar. They get left behind to Desktop 1 :)

Yep, still having some Safari full-screen issues in DP4...hopefully will be resolved next build.

But in general, Safari is much better now. Even more stable than Mac OS X Snow Leopard's Safari.

actually id like to point out there is bugs. And a major one at that. clicking on a download link in most pages simply refreshes the page. it doesnt start downloading the file.

try it for yourself. Run lion safari and try downloading Firefox from the firefox website.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

just refreshes.

Yes, I agree. Safari is much better in the latest build and works great.

much better, but not great. Another bug i just found. The Bookmarks bar repositions itself and hides the tab bar (which is still on 'show'). hiding and showing bookmarks bar and/or tab bar doesnt fix it. have to restart safari.

That's not exactly "more stable than safari on snow leopard"

That has happened to me when I come out of full screen and sometimes the tittle bar disappears under the menubar

multiple desktops and mission control

does anyone know if mission control can show all aggregated apps from multiple desktops, i.e.: desktop1 - 4, rather than specific apps from current desktop i'm on?

is there a gesture setting to go to beginning/end?

how do you enable the versioning test for i.e.: pages, ms word?

Presumably versions only works for software that uses the native cocoa uidocument stuff - not MS office.

I just installed it, everything seems to work like charm.

  • Parts of the menubar show on the login screen.
  • When I hide an app and then bring it back to the front the menubar does not get updated and still shows the menubar of the last app.
  • The scrolling animation is a lot less smooth than on Snow Leopard.

Versions

Hi,

I am new to this forum and was hoping someone could answer a question. I have DP4 ofLion installed - but have noticed that versions does not work in the iWork 09 apps. Versions however does work in textedit. Does anyone know if this is because iWork will require an update - or is this a bug with my install ?

The applications now close without asking to save but when they reopen all changes are lost in the document.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

iWork will require an update. They demoed it during the keynote, so it'll probably get updated when Lion is released.

I’ve gotta say DP4 feels like something that’s stable enough to ship. The only bug I’ve encountered in 2 days of use was minor misalignment of desktop icons after exiting Safari’s fullscreen mode.

Of course, installing the iCloud add-on is a whole other story. Things are a bit buggy because Apple’s servers haven’t fully migrated from MobileMe yet. Mail constantly crashes when trying to sync with the @me.com email account I created from the iCloud setup pane in System Preferences. Also, needless to say, even though I managed to get an @me.com account, MobileMe.com is limited only to using Find My iPhone because I don’t have a normal paid account. Once iCloud goes public, everything should be fine.

P.S. Assuming the new Andromeda Galaxy wallpaper is the official default Lion desktop, I cannot say I’m too happy with it. It’s a bit distracting because of the contrast of colors, especially near the center. Oh well...

Dp 4 is far from being shipped. There are still many bugs that need to get resolved before release. Mail.app has serious issues, Resume doesn't always restore windows in their original spaces, and Safari has display issues when in full screen mode. All these bugs have been confirmed by Apple too which is working on them.
