$19.00 for anythin with the apple logo on it is pretty much the same thing as free

ive ordered some pretty bad pizza's for more then $19.00

how ya and its optional, if you dont want those iOS apps you save your $19.00

$19 = $0.

Wow.

It wouldn't have killed Apple to make this a 10.7.5 release or something. I see no system performance updates to make things snappier, just a bunch of add ons that frankly, this close to the release of Lion, should have been there in the first place, but needed more time. Why is it that iOS has cut, copy, paste, and yet there's no cut feature for OS X?

Doesn't matter though. Until Apple shows more communication for the 2012 iMac's, they get no more desktop money from me. I'm not going through the hassle of updating my iMac only to have new iMac's come out in 6 weeks.

As has been said already, if there's nothing useful to you in Mountain Lion you can keep your $20. For me, I agree it's mostly a bunch of small improvements I'm looking forward to, but it's pretty easy to justify staying up to date for $20.

There is the equivalent of cut for files starting in Lion (cmd-c to copy, then cmd-opt-v to move item here). I don't think Apple will ever think the cut/paste metaphor should be applied to files but this is basically the same. BTW, iOS doesn't have cut/paste for files either, since it doesn't have a user accessible file system and all.

So you either don't want these features = don't update or you do want them but don't want to pay = you can't always get what you want

Tock:Tick = Leopard (10.5):Snow Leopard (10.6) = Lion (10.7):Mountain Lion (10.8)

Mountain Lion is more matured realization of Lion, with very perceptible performance improvement (largely thanks to better memory management). My only beef is that some older Macs will not be able to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion. For this reason, many older Macs are better off running Snow Leopard.

It's basically the same as the move to iOS 6. Minor, tiny updates and graphical changes that should have been iOS 5.2 or 5.5, and a lot of the ML features could have simply been a 10.7.5. But then again, that's the same case as with Snow Leopard, and that cost $30 and everyone seemed to really love that release. Apple just seems to be on a kick of small incremental software improvements this year - maybe to balance out the major hardware innovations, such as the Retina MBP and the redesigned iPhone 5.

I think Razeus meant cutting files and folders in the Finder, but I've never understood why people want that. Copy, paste, and then delete the original takes an extra step but saves the "cut" files from the clipboard "limbo" where they'd disappear if you accidentally copied something else (say a filename) before pasting the cut files.

I've installed Mountain Lion since the Golden Master released on my MacBook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2010. 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 8Gb Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB plus an integrated Intel graphics...

I used to have a small problem when the dynamic switching of the graphics card would switch to the Nvidia gard. The problem was that the monitor would turn blue just like if you change Color Profile to an Adobe RGB profile.

Today the problem just got weirder... when the computer switches to the integrated graphics card the monitor goes black with just some white pixels on the top left corner.

Can someone please answer this question: I installed the GM version but now updates come from the App Store. Will I still able to get all the updates Apple rolls out for ML?

Thanks

Do you have Snow Leopard? If so, just download ML and run the installer telling it to install to the new HDD. That's the best/easiest way.
I don't want to install SL on new drive. I want to go from new drive to ML. looks like I'll have to make a recovery USB.

This is a hardware problem. You have within 2 years of purchase date of your machine to bring it to Apple for them to repair it (logic board replacement).

Recovery USB is definitely one option. I was merely suggesting you could install ML to the new drive from the old drive. So you could plug in the new drive as an external, install ML, and then swap out the old drive for the new one.

OS X does have cut. Copy the files/folders, then cmd+opt+v (or hold option, right click and 'move files'.
