Let's analyse, shall we?

  • Newbie,
  • First post,
  • Hackneyed title: "10 Reasons...",
  • Voluminous screed,
  • "Arresting" graphic,
  • Author's name and email contact details.

Hmm... Is somebody looking for a paid writing gig - or hoping to be "discovered"?

Haha. Good catch! Spot on.

How is this different to any android device which technically 'rooting' voids warranty, and Samsung devices with their extra layer of Knox flags and bios triggers/counters which once changed from anything official technically voids your warranty too....

No it doesn't. It's changed once in 7 generations of phones....

Have you bought a flagship device like the Note 4 or Galaxy Edge off contract ? Pricing is not too dismiliar.

Tell that to android users who likewise update and find their new software introduces a slew of bugs, even some lollipop updaters are complaining that they can not make a call. Heck the Galaxy Note 3 launched here in Ireland with software bug that meant for the first month it could not make a call over 2G GSM ...... Or those with a Note 3 that when updating to Jelly Bean on AT&T has made their devices slower and introduced lag. It happens on every platform. What is important is the speed at rolling out a FIX.

Apple introduce 1-2 products per year ? How is that obsolescence ? Do you have any idea how many models Samsung / Sony/ LG introduce each year ?

Seriously your post is full of so much misinformation and utterly misguided it beggars belief. Even as a newbie I would have expected better.

Agreed. The OP is just click bait.

Good luck to the OP with their choice, but there are too many factual inconsistencies in than first post to go through. I am fairly convinced in my opinion that the OP has never used iOS or has much understanding of Apple's previous additions to their range over the past 10 years. All the best though if they are still here. :)

In that case I found your lack of knowledge of iPhone pricing and the fact you were unaware the charger has only been changed once in 13 years rather confusing. I would have thought you would be more than aware of these little details and that is before I explain a few of the more misinformed mistakes in the OP.

I have only been using iOS for just over 2 years myself year 4 years on Android and I could see the inaccuracies. No offence intended here, I just feel you should have researched a little more before introducing yourself with such a post. Enjoy Android. :)

Just on the charging au ect , I would say apple did changing the size of the charger simply because the old one was far too big for what it did.

What pisses me off is not going the micro usb route. They had a standard that they could have used and is universal across thousands of devices in different sectors in technogly. Yet chose to make a new one. For consumers that is bad.

They made a better connector which is good for technology.
The usb consortium copied apples reversible lighting port design for their own new standard.

Come 2015 android users will have to adapt to a new connector as well.

If you know it only changed when the iPhone 5 was introduced, then why did you say this in your original post?

Why? Because he's trolling, that's why.
Anyone that has been in the Apple ecosystem long enough - no, scratch that. Anyone that has been on the internet, knows that Apple has changed the connector ONCE since it's inception, not "every generation of iPhone".
Half of his "reasons" are bogus and the other half are barely reasons at all.

On a non-sensical scale to the point of being embarrassing, this ranks pretty high.

8. it's changed once in like 15 years (=2 versions)? And the new one is very small and reversible, which is better than mini or micro USB (=2 versions too)

How exactly is it better? Where is the benefit in the connector being reversible?

I find it beneficial and apparently so did the usb consortium, since they have copied the reversible design for the new micro usb standard.

This means that come next year every other manufacturer other than Apple will be implementing the new usb reversible connector.

How is it better over USB in real life though? It can have all the specs in the world but how has it made it better in charging or syncing an iDevice?

Smaller and lighter. Two attributes good for small electronic devices.

Not really especially when you need to carry around an extra adapter that you can potentially lose.

You want to actually answer the question?

It's not smaller than micro USB.

You are worried about losing it....not me. # besides it was apples design, first and it is here now.

Meh. I'd rather have the fast charging capability that goes from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes. Plus, wired is old school when there's wireless inductive charging and WIFI file copy.
