I was having this problem right after I updated to 11.4. It then went away for weeks until this morning when I awoke to a 4% charge. I was connected to the 5GHz network and the only other thing I did different yesterday was download 3 albums from Apple Music.

Could those who report "good" battery life in 11.4.X please specify whether they connect to 5GHz wifi e.g. at home since this seems to be the culprit so far.

I use 5GHz and I had those issues on 11.4. I upgraded to 11.4.1 Beta 4 and has been great since. I'm not willing to update to Beta 5 now or 12.0, since I fear the problems will return.

Thanks! FWIW iOS 12 public beta 1 still drained my SE when connected to 5GHz wifi (running pb 2 now but haven't tested 5GHz yet).

I didn't have any problems with my 7 running 11.4, I put 11.4.1 beta on and got best battery life yet. All day 7 to 5 maybe took 20% of the total.
Curious how 11.4 affects different people (their iPhones) in different ways.

Let’s hope that this week sees the release of 11.4.1 anyway. GM beta today with a release on tue or thu

Yes i have 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I use 5ghz for my iPhone and battery lasts two days

The only thing that kills battery is playing games

Interestingly enough, I had the horrid battery drain for the better part of May and June (100% off charger at 6:30am, 33% by mid-morning with mild usage). About a week ago, I suddenly am back to normal battery life. Running 11.4 official. I didn't touch/change any of my settings at anytime, so Wifi is at 5ghz.

Huh... Maybe I was assuming too much, then. There were several users reporting good battery life when changing from 5GHz to 2.4GHz. Anyway, good to hear! (Some kind of backend issue that only affects 5GHz wifi...? Network settings changed in the background? I usually get a notification for those though.)

iOS 12 pb 2 is also ok so far on my SE, even on 5GHz over night (pb 1 had the drain with 5GHz in my case).

I have also good battery life out of a sudden since a month or so with official 11,4 and I didn't touch anything either. I don't install 11.4.1 yet so hope it will be better.

The only app who give me problem is youtube. Sometimes watching a video with the official app will make my phone very hot and battery will drain very fast, but other than that, its ok.

I updated to 11.4.1 yesterday and have not experienced any battery drain ever since, even though I have been connected to a 5ghz network. Will report back in case the draining starts again.

Any other reports from people who installed 11.4.1? Is the battery much better than 11.4 version ?

What way are u using to install the 11.4.1? Normally from the iPhone or another way?

Seems to be better on my iphone 6s as well although my battery health dropped from 86% to 83% in the past two weeks so I'm getting it replaced anyway. I usually update through itunes (old habit before OTA became available and when something goes wrong, the itunes backup is much faster to restore)

How much money do you have to pay in order to have it replaced?

I cross my finger, but iOS 11.4.1 really fixed the big "jumps" in battery pourcentage. A problem that I basically have since iOS 11.0. Now, the battery seems to drain normally without big decrease like 10-15% in minutes like before. Again, I'll cross my fingers thats not a "lucky" thing, but I really see a difference since the update, and its definitively not placebo effect.

I also did the update and I saw a tremendously better life on my SE. 50’ of usage texting Instagram WhatsApp and my battery is at 92%. In other cases while on 11.4 it would be like 80% now..

Is it truth that it takes some days when u do an update before the battery balances ?

u297, are you going to install the final? You know you want to :). By the way, which phone do you have? I'm still on 11.3.1 on my iPhone 6S and afraid to do it.

It's been a few more days now .... is anyone else noticing improved (or not) battery performance with 11.4.1 on their SE? Like many, I'm still waffling whether to update from 11.3.1 since now we can only roll back to 11.4 which had its own set of problems as we all know.

My 6s which suffered battery drain problems on 11.4 has been 'cured' on 11.4.1. I do believe my battery life has even improved.

So after nearly a week with 11.4.1, I don’t think that my 7 128’s battery drain issues have been solved.

Case in point:

I went out today at 2pm with the battery at about 95%, used my phone infrequently - a few iMessages, photos and some safari & Apple news browsing for a few mins (I was on a walk) and then streamed a mix off SoundCloud for about 45 mins on 4g (with a good signal).

Then I’ve been on my phone for about an hour on safari & Apple news on my own WiFi (no streaming) and I’m down to 27% - I’ve just put it on low power mode.

My phone still seems to lose power quicker than I remember it doing a few months ago (in the halycon days of 11.3). And it runs hotter more often, I’ve noticed.

Is anyone else getting a similar experience?

I’m thinking of doing a factory reset and setting this up as new but I’m not sure if it’s going to solve anything...
