Anywone have a hard solution yet? My SE which has 96% max capacity and normal app usage % loses 20-30% overnight. Location and background apps are off. The only change is the 11.4 update which immediately started the battery depletion.

I am on second recharge since update two days ago.

Has anyone found improvement after allowing for 'reindexing' ?

Other suggestions??

Have you checked under battery stats to see what is using the battery?

Have you tried some other troubleshooting, like restarting, resetting network settings, perhaps resetting all settings, maybe disabling/enabling some things in iCloud in case some sync process is stuck there or doing something, etc.?

So i ran the test again, 100% midnight, and 32% at 7am. gotta wait for 11.4.1. main 8plus has been normal as, cant tell really.

ill leave it for weekend. see what it does.
[doublepost=1527892762][/doublepost]I chatted with apple this morning and the rep claimed no knowledge of any battery drain coincidental with 11.4 update.

Also seemed uninterested in any genuine suggestions to address.

My SE dropping 30% overnight over two days and two recharges. Background refresh, location features disabled and network reset with no improvement. Was solid battery power retention prior to update with battery health showing 95% healthy/capable.

Have seen that with time ‘indexing’ will compete and will resolve. I’m not convinced yet.

I have iPhone 6s, my battery life has been reduced by ~50% with iOS 11.4 without any change in my usage pattern.
My battery health is 96% (device is just 6+ months old). I used to get from 100% down to a single digit in a day+ (30-35 hours) with iOS 11.3.1, now it takes 15-16 hours! And my daily usage pattern hasn't changed a bit. It started immediately after installing 11.4 three days ago (official version, I do not install betas).
I suspected handoff between iPhone and my Mac was the main culprit. I disabled handoff on both my iPhone and my Mac, to no avail. I have come to the following conclusion: when you are where Apple decides as home, iOS 11.4 drains your battery like crazy. What they do it for I do not know, but it's outrageous.

Here are my measurements today:
  • In 9:30 hours when I was commuting (cell network only) and at work (cell data and wifi), my battery dropped from 100% to 76%. Reasonable.
  • Came back home (cell data and wifi) for 1 hour exactly, barely used the phone. Battery went down from 76% to 57%.
  • Went out for 2:30 hours, battery went down from 57% to 52%.
  • Came back home, closed ALL apps (including mail and messages) on the iPhone. in 2 hours battery dropped from 52% to 25%!
This says enough. When Apple identifies you are at home, they take the liberty to drain your battery even when the phone is supposed to be DOING NOTHING. Again: no apps are running, handoff is disabled on both the phone and the mac. I want to downgrade back to 11.3.1, this is ridiculous.

Third night in a row: 90% -> 30%. Every time it's drained 60-70%. All user apps turned off. Two non-Apple widgets are running (WeatherPro, Fantastical) that I'll turn off next. It's still during night time this happens in my case - I'm guessing being idle sets something off. Daytime has been "ok" so far, maybe a little more than usual but more in line with what I expect after an os update.

This isn't just "indexing". It's either a bug in the update itself or something that's clashing with the update. If some kind of initial background task requires this much processing, it should at the very least stop temporarily at low battery or only use a max amount of cpu cycles. You do NOT allow a software update this kind of freedom for the purpose of "getting ready".

EDIT: Similar to the user above, night time = at home connected to wifi. Day time is spent away from home.

I installed the update iOS 11.4 and now my battery is draining at an alarming rate. I did not have these issues before this update.

Please fix this issue as I have read others having the same problem.

I have an iphone 6.

This is so very irritating.

Same I have same ur problem my iPhone X battery drain fast after update
And AppStore background 10%
And the usage and stand by same number

I also do not have any drain on my SE, what is strange, because in previous versions my battery went down much quicker.

Maybe it’s a problem that just affects SE models with a certain chip? There were two versions of cpu by different manufacturers if i remember right? That could explain why some SEs have the drain and others are fine.

I found my iPhone (6) having less battery drain with iOS 11.4 than iOS 11.3, but it's still just too much battery drain (battery health at 84-85%)

It’s only 5pm and my battery is down to 67% already.

This is bad.

Even if you have a X or 7 Plus or 8, based on how you use it, you’re not going to get more than 3-4.5 hrs of usage before you’re down to 67%. So it’s certainly a problem.

Which model do you own? 1662 1723 or 1724? And who is your network provider?

Given the fact that I rarely go below 80% by 10pm, do to how little I use the phone, I can say for a fact that my battery life is Bad.

Its a 6s+, that I bought brand new last October.

Further more, I had no issues in the past, other then few hickups that were easily resolved.

So yes, I am having a big issue with battery life and it’s a problem.

The same with my Ipad Pro, OS 11.4.1 beta is using more and is killing battery life.

So in a 12 hour day going from 100% to 80% battery life is bad? You're already charging your once every 3-4 days.

mine went from 12midnight 100% to almost 2%ish (5pm). no apps in background, and have not used unless lifting to check the battery %.
