So has the OP chimed in on what he's going to do?

Live with his impulsive buy and stick with the MBA or go with the gaming rig.

I don't game on my computer so for me its an easy decision, the MBA, if playing games is a priority, then perhaps a gaming rig makes more sense.

Oh yeah? Try to upload a Facebook picture from your iPad. Or store an MP3 file and transfer it to a friends computer. Or use a website with flash...

I didnt know the definition of a computer was "the ability to upload a picture to Facebook"

I did but since he created the thread, I was hopeful (read nosy) about what the OP did. ;)

For those non ******s who are actually curious as to what i decided to do, I decided to open it up and play around with it for a bit. Im a reward zone silver member so i can return it with no restocking fee. First thing i did was install steam and team fortress 2 to test its gaming prowless. Handled TF2 just fine at max resolution, max settings except medium textures and 2x AA and AF. Game ran pretty nice about 35-45 FPS avg. Stuttered around a bit dont know if it was lag or the fact that i only have 2 gb ram. I realized that 4gb is a must to future proof this thing if i decide to keep it since it seems to handle source based games as good as i need it to. Unfortunately the apple stores near me dont carry the 4gb models in store like ive read some other stores are. I dont wanna wait a week or 2 for a BTO Air and have to pay 100 more for it. Ive decided its going back and im going with the alienware m11x for $799 on sale at best buy. Has 4gb ram, faster processor and bigger hard drive as well as 1gb dedicated nvidia GT 335m for 300 less considering 100 to upgrade the Air. Better gaming machine, still pretty portable at 11.6 inches. Flame on.

Hey Dannyar, don't let the haters get you down everyone can get caught up from time to time but overall a pretty good group of people around here as I'm sure your status as a member has already proven to you. Thanks for reporting back on which way you are going. IMHO I think the M11x is sweet for gamers on the go and hope you are happy with it, as I'm guessing you will be. Peace!

For those non ******s who are actually curious as to what i decided to do, ...

Thanks for reporting back. I also have an unopened box in front of me. It is the more expensive 11.6" stock model with 128 GB FS. I am debating whether I need the BTO 4 GB model instead, but I don't want to wait 2 weeks and spend more for something that may not be an issue at all.

It most definitely is a computer, but with a toned down/restrictive OS.

I know :).

The point I was getting at is that my washing machine is a computer. Heck a Turing Machine is a computer :p.

ingramLee could probably do with reading up on the basics of Computer Science.

As there's no way you can upgrade the RAM at a later date I'd personally get the BTO 4GB :).
