So wouldn't a bezel-less iPad be a pain to use, i.e., your palm will be in the way when holding it?

Tbh, I'm not seeing much of a difference between 10.5 and 11" but at the very least the current iPad has a bezel and your palm doesn't cover the screen

Palm rejection. The 10.5” has tiny bezels on the side but they aren’t affected if I hold it by the side.

Kallum.

Palm rejection doesn't help when your palm is covering the screen. Its only useful to reject extraneaous inputs.

People should stop with this bezel less craziness. I actually think Apples bezels are nice design features and I hope Apple keeps them in future products.

Nope. Bezels can die a fiery death as far as I’m concerned. Edge-to-edge display. I don’t even care if there’s a wedge.

Having said that, I still think the 10.5 and 12.9 will remain and the iPad X will be a unique device rather than the standard (at least at first).

A wedge, or a notch? o_O

Heh, and 9.7pro users felt sour for 10.5 trumping it. Now 11” trumping 10.5

No size is safe!

X will get trumped by a Xplus this year

The 12.9 will get some bezel trim, maybe gen2 users will feel bummed by that too. I’m really happy with my 2017 12.9” tho and my 9.7 pro too

It happens

It becomes annoying to buy cases and what not though. There aren’t many 10.5 cases now, if they dump the format the range will shrink to a very limited selection.

Did you actually ever buy an iPad after the dozens and dozens of hours you’ve spent on here? You’ve been obsessively making threads in this forum for literally years and somehow people keep humoring you.

is anybody here who is in absolute shock ! And mourning about the news that the 10.5" iPad Pro is now going to be made bigger to 11" I mean cmon Apple you are going on increasing the size of the most ideal size tablet from 9.7" it went to 10.5" and now to 11" why do you not think portability does matter a lot to a lof people, which was also the concept and idea behind a on the go device like the iPad ! I don't know if Steve Jobs would have been alive how much would he have been in favor of this ! I mean having an extra screen estate is welcomed but not at the cost of portability and compactness. Having 11" iPad will be so dangerously close and cannibalizing the concept of 12.9" iPad Pro. I mean on why on earth would someone want to have a 11" tablet if he wants to go that big I think he would be nudging extremely close to having a MacBook Air or a 13" MBP ! He might aswell have that ! I don't get it ! 11" iPad Pro is just an overkill ! Not required in all honesty !!

These three sizes fit together, 7inch, 9inch and 11inch pro.

It better be Thinner, I can’t stand the 10.5” because I can feel how much thicker it is ve my 9.7” Pro

Sorry but I do not want Apple to make it thinner. Apple has made many of its devices thinner and not too long ago they were bending! They ruined the MacBook Pro with the new thinner keyboard. I would rather the iPad get a bit thicker to give us more battery.

Sick of Apple's thin thing!

Yes so the dates must have been delayed but the Concept still remains the same right ?

Yet another size just means another long wait for apps to be updated; some took many months to update for 10.5.

Is this concrete?

Literally had a 10.5 in the cart about to hit order and came on here.

Any word if there will be a back cover ?

It looks like an indefinite hold at the moment ! But if you can hold on till October-November things will be more clear !! I am also in the same boat it is a very heart wrenching Wait ! But it is Apple they want to do things the way they want to do !!

I think it’s fine as long as Apple releases an updated 12.9”
.5” increase isn’t a big deal IMO.

K.

THIS. I am really excited by the X treatment on the iPad, but at the same time I am afraid that they don’t apply it to the 12.9, wich would be really disapointing for me since I could not go back to smaller, bezeless or not.

Honestly, I am prepared to be disapointed since Apple has a history of applying major design changes to only one product in the lineup before going all the way and in that case, it would make sense they try it on the most mainstream one before anything else.

Ok, that makes more sense now.
[doublepost=1521097510][/doublepost]I just sold my 12.9 screen, Smart Keyboard online because it was too big. I wanted to try and replace my old MacBook but it just was TOO BIG. Got the 10.5 and LOVE IT. Right size and I can put in my purse or just carry around the house. Not sure I like the "No bezel” but will have to see it, and considering the 10.5 I'm writing on now isn't even a week old, I can wait a few years.

I had decided to do the same (sell 12.9 and get 10.5). But then after some thought came to the conclusion that I might as well wait on the next generation iPad Pro. Sure, I wanted it but I can wait. Glad you like yours! I'm sure that I would have loved my 10.5 as well.

And both those reports said new iPads would be released in June at WWDC, so....

That is true . . . rumors.
