The iPad Pro 10.5 was only re-designed a year ago. I think it’s too early to do a re-design at this point. There were some cool renders of a relatively bezeless iPad Pro with the 11 inch screen in the same body size, but if it were being re-designed there would be a ton more leaks at this point.

I bought the iPad Pro 10.5 day one...one of the best products Apple has made imho.

I was l hot on the 10.5 iPad, I like the screen size but I have problems writing with two thums when holding the iPad with both hands. I cant reach mid keyboard characters. For me the perfect size would be that of 9.7 iPad with an 10.X screen.
BTW. I have quite big hands, not like that guy.

I suppose I'm harping on to the time when I had an iPad Mini 4 but I think 11" is slightly too big for my use cases. I know that it will have the same chassis size but I find even the 10.5" a little too large for my main use case for the iPad - reading books. I guess I would get used to it, though.

Anyway, I won't be a buyer as I don't use my iPad as much as I would like to, so I think I'm going to keep it until the battery goes which could be another 2-3 years.

That is a valid point. Even though I jumped on the 10.5 bandwagon late (this is actually the very first time I’ve ever bought an Apple device after the launch) I’m glad that I decided to not wait on the next iteration. I agree with your assessment of the 10.5 iPad Pro. I love it!

That said, if there are significant differences/improvements or added features in the next model, I plan to follow my “MO” and jump on it at launch.

Hmmm, I never though thought about typing with both thumbs. I don’t even do that on my iPhone X. That is something worth exploring.

Strange as it may seem, I went from an iPad Mini to the 12.9 iPad Pro. It was great for reading books, magazines and other reading material. But in the end for overall use it was too large and heavy. I just moved to the iPad Pro 10.5. On this one the same material I used to read on the 12.9 is acceptable when in portrait mode. For overall use, it’s a winner hands down.

Is this concrete?

Literally had a 10.5 in the cart about to hit order and came on here.

Any word if there will be a back cover ?

Coming from a 12.9 iPad Pro, I was on the fence as well. I came away empty handed from the local Best Buy even though I went there with the intent of purchasing the 10.5 iPad Pro. I thought about it and then, shortly after, ordered one from Apple. I never looked back in the rear view mirror. I’m extremely happy with my choice but will still look at the next iPads whenever they come out. Until then I’ll enjoy this little gem I’m typing on right now.

is anybody here who is in absolute shock ! And mourning about the news that the 10.5" iPad Pro is now going to be made bigger to 11" I mean cmon Apple you are going on increasing the size of the most ideal size tablet from 9.7" it went to 10.5" and now to 11" why do you not think portability does matter a lot to a lof people, which was also the concept and idea behind a on the go device like the iPad ! I don't know if Steve Jobs would have been alive how much would he have been in favor of this ! I mean having an extra screen estate is welcomed but not at the cost of portability and compactness. Having 11" iPad will be so dangerously close and cannibalizing the concept of 12.9" iPad Pro. I mean on why on earth would someone want to have a 11" tablet if he wants to go that big I think he would be nudging extremely close to having a MacBook Air or a 13" MBP ! He might aswell have that ! I don't get it ! 11" iPad Pro is just an overkill ! Not required in all honesty !!

First of all, it’s not news...it’s a rumor at this point. Also, if Apple does increase the screen size to 11” by removing the bezels, it will most likely stay the same physical size as the current 10.5” ipad pro...so why complain? And the current 10.5” is only marginally bigger than the 9.7” ipad...again, because of the slimmer bezels. And the next 10.5” if it is increased to 11” won’t canabalize the 12.9” ipad pro because the 12.9” will likely increase its screen size to something like 13.5”. Ultimately, nobody knows what Apple will do. It’s all total speculation! So chillax dude. It’ll all be okay. Heck, Apple may release an ipad mini pro for all we know. Until they actually announce the next ipad pros, just enjoy the rumors for what they are...rumors!

erm, 11" screen in the SAME physical chassis is what most are expecting. What's not to like?

And if I didn't like it, I'd buy an existing model. Definitely not something to go into shock and mourning about. Deep Breath now! :)

(Steve Jobs isn't alive. We can't predict what he would or wouldn't like. And he wasn't a prophet. Pretty sure the IPP as it exists went against his vision of no stylus, no keyboards etc. You also wouldn't have the + phones)
At the unveiling of the first ever iPad, Jobs himself did mention that there was bluetooth keyboard support "in case you want to write War and Peace", so he was not opposed to using one on an iPad for stuff like that. Also, I think he would have liked the Apple Pencil and probably would have marketed it as not a stylus but an electronic writing tool made specifically for iPad.

As far as the 11" size--I'm all for it, and at the same time will not be buying one. I will be sitting on the sidelines this year and sticking with my 10.5" iPad Pro for now. So I'm very interested and pleased that they're continuing to increase that screen size for when I am back in the market for a new iPad. OP seems to be in a panic about this for some reason. Not sure why.

To begin with when last year in 2017 when there were rumors and images floating around on the internet about the 10.5" iPad Pro it kind of pissed me off ! Because I thought the 9.7" iPad Pro was a fantastic design in Terms of dimensions and weight, pretty big yet reasonably compact and light!

I loved it a s device so I was little perplexed why would APPLE tamper with such a design which has been an instant hit and popular amongst massed and classes equally, but when the 10.5" iPad Pro finally released APPLE convinced me that, we are giving you a better user experience which is rich and smooth, but I thought the 10.5" was stretching the limits as far as how compact and yet big a Tablet can be. Now when I hear the news of the iPad Pro becoming 11" that sounds too far fetched and is going way beyond the imaginable limits ! But having said that it is APPLE that we are talking about, and the legend goes, "when APPLE Talks the world listens" which means when APPLE comes up with a device there is a lot of thinking and Research and Development that has gone behind it. so let's see what APPLE pulls of its sleeve but on the outset I am not too happy with the news of the iPad Pro being stretched to 11"

Then just......buy the 9.7” model? I don’t really know what else to tell you.
