The keyboard is pretty amazing, it resolve the 2 things people asked for it...trackpad and to be backlit
Nothing is for free

Considering the feature set, and that it's Apple...its pricing is unsurprising to me.

I agree to an extent. I paid $99 for my Logitech MX Keys keyboard and I love it - so much I bought two. I know the Magic Keyboard costs - I have one of those, and I know the full sized Apple keyboard is $150. But damn, $300... still caught me off guard.

I'll admit I spent $200 getting the Apple keyboard for my iPad Pro 11 (I use it on work trips a LOT)... it still hurt and felt excessive. $300 just pushes that too far for me. lol.

Hahaha. I was pretty convinced a new iPad Pro wasn't going to happen but quite a few posters here that I follow that are easily 4x smarter than I am said there was going to be.

My wife and I just bought an iPad Pro 11 less than a month ago. After seeing this new iPad - not at all regretting our purchase. My wife used her iPad Pro 10.5 for many years happily and the 11 Pro was a nice boost for us. We'll use this for several more years at least before even thinking of upgrading.

That keyboard pricing is ... INSANE. Absolutely insane.

My wife was pretty sad at the lack of colors for cases for the iPad Pro 11. :p

I wouldn’t be concerned with not waiting, there‘s always something new coming, but at the end of the day, if your current purchase is working for you, that’s all that matters.
I just purchased a 10.5, and it‘s more than suffice, but of course part of me wants the new shiny stuff.

I hear you. Part of me wants to sell my 2017 MBP 13' for that Macbook Air :D But I don't need it. Doesn't mean I don't want it. <cough>.

Don’t get me wrong, the wheels are turning in my head, but there needs to to be a considerable amount of justification to upgrade to a new purchase Like this. Hopefully I can hold out on the impulse purchase. I keep telling myself to enjoy my 10.5 Pro, but I have a birthday coming up, I could sure treat myself, if not we have Christmas? Lol.

Having upgraded to the 11 Pro from the 10.5 (after having an iPad Air 3 inbetween) --- I could have EASILY kept the 10.5 Pro and have been happy. In fact, if I had to go back and do it all over again I would have kept the 10.5 Pro and had a lot more $ in the bank.

The Air 3, in my opinion, was worse than the 10.5 Pro. And knowing that, that prompted me to upgrade to the 11 Pro from the Air 3. Once you go Pro, you never go back.

But seriously, if I had to do it all over again, I'd have told myself to wait for the next gen Pros coming out in a few years (from now). That shiney new stuff is tempting. Apple knows how to make its billions. :) My wife and I are happy customers.

I can sort of relate, I went from a 9.7 Pro to a 6th Gen, then I got the Air, and now the Pro 10.5. I agree the Pro is definitely a better device then the Air 3. Don’t get me wrong, the Air 3 is nice, but I see why it’s not a Pro model.

They look exactly the same....aside from the camera.
The selling point for some was the new keyboard, but it will apparently work for both generations.

By "looks cool" I meant the entire package, not what it physically looks like. That is nice that I'd be able to use the new keyboard.

Zero.

Won't fit.

Well imore is actually saying the opposite, though I think their information may be incorrect. They are stating if you own the ASK right now it will work with the new ipad pro 2020.

The only thing I can think of is that both cameras will work but it covers the led and the new sensor.

Not sure but that is what they are currently saying.

Then they are wrong. The camera cutout on the 2018 model ASKF is too small for the 2020 iPad Pro. Remember, the camera sticks out.

I wonder if there is any circuitry around that camera cutout on the 2018 version. Presumably, you could enlarge the cutout as long as you weren’t cutting through some connection used by the Smart Keyboard.

Put me down for "wait" as the update is significant, especially if you care about the camera.
