Pretty good considering I was using Safari for most of that time + the OS was probably still doing things in the background.

What im tired of is settings getting reset, or new settings defaulting to on. In settings accounts and passwords, fetch new data is set on. Ive always had my mail turned to manual fetch, cuz i dont want my systems looking for email every time it wants. I think it started in 11, but i only noticed it after this update. Not sure how that affects battery...
Settings shouldn't be changing on their own at random times. It's possible after an update some setting or settings might get changed (even though they really shouldn't), but that should be fairly limited in the sense that it the update might change something when it gets installed.

iPhone 6s: I used to have 6+ hours of usage on iOS 10, with iOS 11 it's down to 4.5-5. No other performance issues.

iOS 11.0.1 did not change anything (so far).

Btw, my impression is that one of the main problems is Standby time. On iOS 11, my phone drops 20% overnight with only Mail having some background activity.

My wife and I both have IP7+ 256GB. Both were upgrade via DFU. Both have battery issues. After reading several posts, I am curious if this could be caused by buggy applications that were installed after the upgrade. I see nothing actively reported to be using battery, but I may DFU reset the phone and not install any of my apps and see if this is the case with just a vanilla installation.

I found the culprit of my battery drain. It was a security system monitoring app. This was not an issue on iOS 10, so I can't say if it is the app that was buggy or iOS 11 itself.. The app was installed long before iOS 11, and I have not installed any new apps since upgrading.

Basically my iP7 was never in sleep the entire time since upgrading to 11. Usage time was the same as standby time since upgrading. 11.01 did not solve it - last night it drained 40% sitting on my dresser, showed 12 hours of use. The monitoring app did not show up in the battery usage details.

I will reinstall it later on and see if it keeps the phone awake again. As of right now 45 minutes standby and 0 minute usage.

I have not noticed any battery changes or issues, either in use or standby, between 10.3.3, 11.0 and 11.0.1. Obviously other people are having other experiences, which would be extremely frustrating. I just want to point out that 11/11.0.1 is not inherently a problem on all devices.

Update: This battery life seems pretty great at 89%!

(Btw the usage and standby are the same bc I actually haven’t put down my phone since I took it off charge). It’s on LPM because I usually just keep it on; and iOS 11.0.1 made it faster.

I'm actually now thinking the culprit in my case is the Mail app. It's now almost permanently at the top of the list of apps in terms of battery consumption. I have Gmail setup as Fetch with 15 min frequency and the app shows quite a bit of background activity. This is also a possible explanation to why the battery drops by 20% during the night.

Sim-Free iPhone 7 here. No change that I can see. Still very poor when using the phone. Safari really kills the battery. Standby is OK.

I'm back on 10.3.3 now... god damn it is smooth, and has no weird/ugly UI elements that are so un-Apple.

Loving my super battery again - doesn't go down 1-2% every time I unlock it at least :)

apple mail app is garbage, especially with exchange accounts, and its a device data storage hog, everythings wrong with it. i use this one https://mail.edison.tech/ and had a instant battery life increase when i switched to it a year ago, as well as more device space (that doesnt fill overtime either unlike apple mail), and push with gmail etc.

I've been averaging 5.5-6 hours on 11.0.1. YouTube, some games, safari, texting, and listening to music mainly.

How long it last until discharge? I am wanting to upgrade

Might just be me but I get a lot of animation lags and certain tasks like turning on flash light take time (a small pause)

Really doesn't feel fluid or smooth all the time.

Battery life seems fine though.

iPhone 8

My SE runs iOS 11 smoother with the odd bug here and there. No flashlight lag on SE

Weird stuff on my end.I was getting really high drain on the 11 release. When i updated yesterday, then restart, and after a full charge last night I thought I was in the clear. I was on standby till lunch at work with 93%.Then my phone locked. I restarted. and from 12:00 to 2:00 im at 76%. this is really driving me bonkers.

My 6s showed massive battery drain with 11.0 compared to 10.3.3. I do wonder whether it was casused by Photos indexing and scanning faces as this topped my battery useage with only a few minutes on screen. I did notice an improvement before 11.0.1 came out - and things seem almost back to normal.

I tested my battery with CoconutBattery http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutbattery/ Turns out it's now at 79% of the original capacity. I tested it then again with the Apple Support app and chatted with an adviser: she said my battery passed their test with 84%, which also seems pretty low to me. I'm going to visit an Apple Store in the next few days and hopefully they will replace my battery free of charge - I have one more year left of AppleCare+.

on 10.3 with 6S+ battery was excellent. MORE than excellent.
since 11 and 11.01 battery drains around X2 -
previous similar use that would have taken 5%,
now gets to even 15% drainage.. i need someone to relax me cause this can get me insane.

i tried draining to 1% to calibrate but in the morning it's still the same.
so - is this simply a deliberate fault by Apple to make me upgrade?
or a "heavier" OS that demands more? (this is the most reasonable option i can accept)

is there anyone else with 6S+ that feels the same? or managed to fix this?

Not too bad on my SE. Drained 4% overnight with Airplane mode.
