I had (2) bad iPads and it took a 3rd one to finally experience normal operation.

Congratulations again, why are you still answering on this thread if your particular case has been resolved?

. Go read reviews anywhere! Walmart, bestbuy, Newegg, Amazon.

Well really? That was an interesting idea, thank you. Let's check Amazon (that doesn't allow to leave obviously fake reviews unlike BestBuy and Walmart) - newest iPad Pro 2018:
https://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPad-1...keywords=ipad+pro+12.9&sr=8-1#customerReviews

The first review I see is about the bendgate problems of iPad Pro 3 and 14% of users (on the moment of me reading it) left 1 star. If you read other reviews of iPad Pro it's the same 14-15% users with bright spot problems, bending problems, USB-C problems, Apple Pencil problems. I found at least 3 users (out of 84) with touch screen problems the same as ours in that thread on the Amazon.

This is crazy, this issue is everywhere.

Revtegs touch issues have been fixed too, just like mine, and several other people. I don’t know about you, but I’d like some one who has had experience with a touch issue responding to a forum. So, yes I still post on here. I enjoy reading these threads.

Also, Walmart has separate reviews for each particular iPad Pro version. storage space, carrier, WiFi only etc. etc.

Why not check Walmart’s reviews? Were they not bad enough?

You are cherry picking reviews, trying to make this problem seem bigger than it is. It is really not that big of a deal. Do you have any idea how many people bought a iPad Pro and have not posted a review? You are literally saying “ well 10% of all iPad Pro buyers in the world wrote reviews and 14% of those 10% had problems lol. The problem is not big enough I guess

Exchange your iPad and be done with it, or you can keep trying to prove something that makes no difference at the end of the day, and yell at me about how much you hate Apple..

Apple doesn’t care, and no one else will solve or fix the real problem. All you can do is exchange, or sell, and buy another one.

I repeat I can't exchange my iPad because the problem started after warranty expired. Also I don't hate Apple.

Why are you still bothered by this thread then? What are you trying to prove here and why to us poor users having this problem?

So your using a 2nd gen iPad Pro? To soon for the 3rd gen warranty to expire, they’ve only been out about 4 months.

I had my 12.9 2018 Pro in today. The issue happened in store so that was helpful. Replacement due next week fingers crossed for a good one.

Good luck!

Yes I am. I had this issue on 2nd gen iPad Pro which was replaced and then after 3 months my replacement started to act the same and it was already out of warranty. I went to the Store where Apple tried to actively sell me 3rd gen (for a difference around $700 maybe even more). After realizing this issue poisoned all iPads from 2015 up to 2018, and you never know when it starts to happen, while Apple actively denying all hardware problems I decided to stop giving my money away to Apple.

And I'm still curious why are you still bothered by this thread? What are you trying to prove here and why to us poor users having this problem?

I know this is a several month old thread but I had the same touch issues with my 2018 launch day 12.9. I thought it was the glass screen protector I put on it. Took the protector off and the issues continued. I finally was able to get a video of it happening on my phone. Took it back to Apple and the replaced it. Issues gone.

Some exciting news! I think I found the source of the problem and the solution. I don’t want egg on my face, so I will say it again, I **think** I've found the source of the problem. I will need your help to confirm it.

First, make sure you are having the same touch issue commonly described here. Specifically, you touch something actionable on the screen and nothing happens. You’ll often get an auditory feedback when you type, but nothing shows up on the screen. Eventually you’ll get a response after several tries, but sometimes you will have to reorient the screen, touch another location on the screen or kill the app. If you’re having the same symptoms, then this might work for you.

The solution is very simple, but I don’t know if many of you can live with it. Are you ready......drum roll.....

DELETE THE YOUTUBE APP!!!

That’s it. Will the problem go away 100%? Not really, but at least 95%. I occasionally get a key press drop, but not nearly as often as before. The performance is also much zippier. I was wondering if the iPad Pro was overhyped and even considered downgrading. Now, however, I am seeing significant speed improvements over my old iPad 4.

Try this solution and report back. You may also want to restart your iPad for good measure just to clear out all the evil YouTube bits and bytes that may be still lurking in the system. This might explain why some people don’t have this problem while others do. You’ll have to watch YouTube from the browser, which really *****.

I only took mine back 4 times. The 5th worked correctly. I have noticed in the past couple weeks it will change pages while reading something on another page. I thought it was me but it’s done it while holding it with nothing near the screen.

Holy cow! You're a life saver!

Well how do you know if you don't experience this issue (as we found out recently)? Why do you even bother to answer about the problems you don't experience? It looks fishy.

Unfortunately the problem with YouTube is a separate software issue. There's a YouTube (and sometimes Safari) issue that can be fixed by a software update.

And then there's a (more widespread) separate problem when it's a hardware issue and it cannot be fixed by anyone except Apple. Here's the list of what we tried: switching Bluetooth and WiFi on/off, various connection settings, pencil, Accessibility options, Pro Motion, Factory Reset, Network Reset, restore from backup, cleaning iPad, rotating, putting at different angles. Using different Apple genuine chargers, backside protectors (I don’t have any screen protectors), tweaking almost all Settings on the iPad and removing/installing different applications, using different versions of iOS.

Nothing helped in the long run :(

Is this unique to the 12.9 iPad Pro? I think I responded to a post of yours with my experience - I don't have a 12.9 - only an Air 3 and previous 10.5 Pros. I'll correct my previous post then.

Edit: For the $ I'd be super bummed out if this was happening to me. Again, sorry to see. Hopefully a new update fixes it (one can hope, yes?).
