I really a want a 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro but with the 16gb unified ram instead of the 8gb.

I’m so inpatient and I’m super annoyed they don’t have that option available in any store. Reps on the phone told me they don’t come out of their warehouses with the 16gb unified RAM and into stores.

I just needed to vent.

I think it is a wrong marketing decision that to make the 16GB models CTO exclusive. Such decision leads to the "unbalanced" situation now: Need an 8GB model? Walk in an Apple Store and pick it up now. Need an 16GB model? Wait few weeks(even months).

This is not true as I was able to purchase a 16gb, 1tb Air and pickup same day. It really depends on the store and what gets shipped to them. It did take me a couple days to find one but I kept checking back and selecting all the color options for 16gb, 1tb until it showed a nearby store had one. I even got my AirPods Max this way. Checked the online store around 7pm, saw that one store had them in silver and a courier delivered them to me the very next morning.

I waited 3 weeks for my order and I am glad that I did, it noticed much difference but I like to max out as I can’t later. Surprising that they do a maxed out version like they do with the intel ones.

I envy you! I’ve been checking everyday online and I haven’t been able to come up on one.

I’m looking forward the exact same configuration. 13 inch MBP 1TB hard drive and 16gb ram.

Just keep checking everyday. The Apple Stores in my area usually update between 10 AM and 1PM. I picked up a 16GB/1TB last week when one showed up in stock.

16/1TB is in-store for both MBA and pro, it is just less available than the 8GB models, you have to keep checking.

Bought my 16/1T MBP as next day store pickup.

Had to step lively, when the model came available it’d only last a short bit.

I am in central Florida and cannot find a space gray one for the life of me. Looking for the same 1TB and 16GB model.

Was this recent?
Three weeks ago. I was checking multiple times a day; at the various stores in the region it'd show available somewhere for a few minutes to a couple hours then be gone. No apparent pattern. I pulled the trigger when the store close to me had one. (other stores have higher sales tax %)

I was able to snag 2 of these a couple weeks ago. They popped up sporadically in the Philadelphia area stores. I had seen them several times before, but it was always on days when I wasn’t able to get to the store for express pickup. When I finally did purchase, I found them checking my store inventory at 6:30 AM.

I think they get around out there, it’s just that other people are also looking for them and snap them up.

Oddly, they would not show up in the inventory if I started with the $1299 model and spec-ed it up. I had to start with the $1499 model. As others have said, space gray is the only finish they seem to stock for this SKU.

Yeah I’ve been running into the same issue. If you search for 16gb ram with a 512 hard drive, you can’t even search if they have it in stores.
I’m going to keep trying today. I live in South Florida and it’s 8:30AM down here, I’ve already started refreshing the apple website.

Curious if any had luck with in store stock of MBA 8 core 16 GB RAM? It doesn’t seem to even let me check in store availability once I click 16 GB RAM...

Oh, I should have said, I bought 16 GB/1 TB. I would have gone 16/512 but never saw that as an in-store config.
We keep our computers a long time, so I decided that that 1 TB SSD wasn’t a bad upgrade to have.

I don’t upgrade too often either so 1TB is going to be the move for me.

hopefully they have one stock somewhere around my area today.

I want to say to give them time and it'll come into stores. However, I also doubt the previous sentence, so no need to flame.

They are in stores since the beginning but they sell out literally immediately. If you’re not online refreshing the Apple Store then you will miss a pick up option.

I am lucky living in Bristol, UK we have two Apple Stores here, if one does not have it in stock then there is chance the other does. There is a space gray MBA 16GB, 1TB available for collection tomorrow at the store at Cribbs Causeway.
