I feel somewhat ashamed to ask for help, but I'm struggling now getting Catalina Loader running for brightness control. Also unsure if this sits in here due to the focus on 2011 imacs, or if it's more appt. in the Catalina Unsupported Macs section.
I've been running my K610M for a while now - stuck with High Sierra. Native bootloader. I've only just moved to Catalina this last week. I can boot using the native bootloader, but can't get Catalina Loader / OC running.
Symptom: Can boot Catalina Loader, get to the drive selector, choose my drive - hangs at the Apple logo, no progress bar appears.
Previous Steps:
Upgraded to Catalina using an older version of Catalina Loader (0.5.7?) - installed successfully and had brightness control.
Installed the 10 kexts + 1 private framework (inc. latest Lilu/WhateverGreen). Can't boot using Catalina Loader anymore but can still boot natively.
Sleep works and HD3000 detected for HA.
Removed Lilu/WhateverGreen kext as previous posts suggests a clash with OC. Still nothing.
Upgraded Catalina Loader to 0.6.0 and also reinstalled all the kexts + PrivateFramework - still the same issue.
I've double checked that I'm using config.NVIDIA.plist (renamed) in /EFI/OC.
I'll try and read the OC documentation to check if there's a way to enable verbose mode - but have I made a glaring error to the experts here?

Check the doc I made for the Catalina loader and enter the commands I described there manually and complete in a terminal: mount, chmod, chown, kextcache, kcditto and finally reboot. You cannot just delete files from the /S/L/E and hope alle the traces are gone then.
You need only this eight files on disk. Whatevergreen and Lilu and BacklightFixup are better maintained with the Catalina Loader.

After installing the video card GTX880m, I installed Catalina patcher, I have a number of problems that I would like to get an answer-help,
1) my display goes out at full brightness it started long before installing a new video card, as well as the brightness even if it happens for some time, it is not the same as it was before installing the video card... is there a problem and how to solve it?

2) when the aimag goes to sleep mode, it immediately restarts after sleep... I tried the method from the first post, but my computer froze and the problem was not solved, I rebooted forcibly and did not try to fix it again.
3) installing Windows 10 via Bootcamp gives an error, the bootable flash drive is not formatted, here's what I did: I launched the hackin tool unlocked the finder and then led the team in the nano sudo terminal and then the path to Bootcamp ... edited the download from the USB...
I tried to create a flash drive through a second computer on which Windows 10, for reasons not clear, butrum does not see the flash drive, (USB card reader for SD cards) but if you insert the SD card into the aimag, Windows appears and downloads, but then formatting the disk partition, installing gpt and that's the end... question about installing Windows 10 open is it possible to install directly from the ISO image in Catalina patcher?
and I tried to install Sierra to install Windows 7 and update to 10, failed to install, that's what I did, changed the date in the installation mode in the terminal, but in the end it gave me an error about the authenticity or you can't check the author... something similar, I also noticed that the GTX880m video card behaved strangely, the lack of video buffer is very noticeable! I hardly notice such problems on Catalina...
4) is it possible to increase the power of the GTX880m video card to full capacity? since it feels like I'm not getting everything she's capable of from her this is a direct question to by nikey22 ?????????

with the @nikey22 k4100m mac vbios edition, you don't need OpenCore anymore.
did you flash the card? which method?

as for your second and third issue.
Did you add the kexts for Catalina to fix sleep issue and to re-enable quick sync?
For windows you can't use bootcamp to make a bootable drive (Assuming you have a 2011)
Go read my post here #9066 and follow the guide I linked in that post.
I'm not running a gtx880m but this should work regardless of your gpu.
It looks complicated at first but if you can flash a gpu this is a walk in the park.
Got myself a nice K2100M for 30 euro's, as new, tomorrow in my mailbox. Nice for my 21.5 iMac.

Lady Titan, it's more complicated than you think!
These new GPU upgrade for replaceable iMacs GPU are in experimental status. there is no guarantee nor 100% it's all your own risk!
here is not Apple company, here are some good heart people doing list of some new experimental for goods!
so experimental status are usually hard! and many unknown questions are unanswered..... because it's unknown or needs scanning the issues. it's not a simply to say "hey computer why don't you work with my new GPU?" 😄
but did you know there is one more important thing, there is no stable CoronaVirus Vaccine treatment! it's probably about 10 months and the virus is still spreading around the world! nearly about 1 million people are dead!

Good people here answered that it took at least 6 months, latest replaceable GPU iMac is 2011 but we're now 2020! and Apple does not care!
people here have pleased not to ask when or duplicated questions, but there are really thankful to post the new bugs and issues if you did exactly what they listed what to do with new GPU. we need to respect them, they need help.
it's Apple that made trouble, why can't you simply change HDD 3.5" without OWC HDD sensor? why not upgrade GPU when it's already possible? peaceful Safety? Apple charges people! if iPhones were at reasonable price, they would rule the world!
The 2011 IMac does not need an OWC sensor . Do this

I have done this to about 30 IMac's 2011 ...works fine fan operation is normal and it will also pass apple store diagnostic .What?

with this mod HDD fan will always spin slowly but SSD doesn't heat up so it's not an issue.What?

I finally managed to install Catalina on my iMac (spec visible below) using Dosdude patch.
it works beautifully but I need ALWAYS to start it keeping the ALT (Option) key pressed and select the boot drive. Without this trick I always have a black screen. Once started with the trick, sleep and wake up are fine and the iMac works fine up to the next restart.
What do I miss?

at the next boot press ALT select your boot drive then keep CTRL pressed then ENTER
So I've just installed the new GPU (K3100M) in a 27" 2011 model and get the bong and HDD activity when I power on. However, I never get anything on the screen, and the optical drive seeks several times over the course of a few minutes before the machine restarts itself. Any ideas? Is the new GPU bad?
I was under the impression the card could be flashed while installed in the iMac under Windows, which is already on the HDD. It hasn't been flashed yet, but it doesn't seem to even boot to an OS.
I'm getting LED's 1 and 2, no 3. I'll try re-seating the GPU, but I'm pretty sure it's in the slot properly. Any other possible causes or fixes for that?
I have bought a K610M and a SSD to upgrade my iMac 27 2011. What else I gotta buy in order to keep my HDD in place?
