Hi,
i have been able to flash Bios for K3100M_BFR via usb linux and now I am stuck with that issue in video below.

I know that I need to install a modified kext, but how I do that with the black screen? I hold ALT when reboot but the monitor stays black like the video? can I install macOS in a usb and flash that kext in usb and then in IMAC?
Or exists a way to remotely install the package remotely?via ssh or something?like I did to install bios?
Hi,
have you reseted SMC and PRAM after flashing the BIOS?

sounds to m like it fails the POST and retries again and again

boot-chime loop without GPU installed?
In that case something else is broken in your machine - no idea what might be the cause, and no idea how to find out.
Without the k3100m it boots and gets past the boot-chime, and works with a flashed k1100m and even with the original semi-functional amd gpu. The problem is that when I connect the display to the board, when I turn it on the screen turns on but remains black and it has the boot-chime loop. Although if I unplug the k3100m, boot the imac without it and reset the pram 3 times, and then put it back in and not attach the display, it no longer enters the boot-chime loop. So the issue seems to be the "flashed" k3100m. The boot chime loop appears when I attach the display, and then stays like that until I take the k3100m and reset the pram.

Edit: I'm having the exact same problem with the same GPU as @dream_catcher and even tried resetting the SMC and PRAM

Holding alt during boot wakes up the internal screen, but not the external one unfortunately.
I know, I write in riddels. Possibly I should simply had answered: Check out the first post.

The solution for the black screen issue should enable external display ports, too. I will not do the reading of the first post for you.

HI,
it seems to be a hardware issue since it happens when you plug any card.

Aha, thank you very much. Sorry for being an idiot, I'll try that patch.

There simply are individual cards that don't work, as also stated in the first post. Most of them do work in the late 2009 Core-i and 2010 iMacs.
Well, if it didn't work at all I would think that the iMac would not have booted at all, I also have a k3000m that apparently was dead on arrival, my iMac wouldn't even give me the ram beeps or get past the boot chime, with the k3000m

So, how have you managed to get that apparently dead card working?

Yes, something is working - but as soon as the screen is switched on, the Mac's EFI firmware seems to crash. Unfortunately that's as far as you can get with some cards - other apparently identical cards may work.

I didn't, my iMac wouldn't recognize it, but it works flawlessly in a Clevo

Yea, that's what I was thinking, unfortunately I don't have acces to a Clevo anymore so I cannot test it on Windows anymore :/

Unfortunately, no. Followed the instructions, kextutil reported successful patch, but still no external displays. Though none of the linked AGC kexts refer to Big Sur, which I'm running. I used the newest one, which is for 10.15.7.
The AGC patch is included in some Big Sur patchers... you just need to find out in which. And it is a plist patch, not a replacement with older versions.

Another update.
Premise: my card differs from yours only for an abbreviation on the RAM, that is: Hynix H5GQ1H24BFR T2C 321A
I flashed the bios via LINUX USB, everything ok.
When the car is cold, I can only turn it on once. If I turn it off, it won't turn on anymore. When I push the power button I only get a half second flash but it doesn't start. Once started, however, the card works correctly, I also did a UNIGINE Benchmarks and no problem. What can this be due to?
PS: replacing the original ATI card the machine turns on and off correctly every time.
Hi boombari,

I've also had some issues (hangs) with the stephle ROM on my K3000M in a Mid-2010 iMac, also had issues with warm reboots and hanging. The system was working well with nikey22's last release, after he reduced the clocks. The clocks in the stephle ROM are higher than nikey22's last release, so I've adjusted the stephle ROM (reduced clocks, changed voltages) to match nikey22's last release. I've PM'd you a copy of the modified ROM which I also briefly tested on my own system in Win10 (heaven for ~5-10 mins) and briefly in macOS Mojave. Feel free to try it.

Regards,
Rob.

My iMac turns on even without a heat sink on the graphics card at all - that's the way I used to test whether my card was broken when it didn't turn on with the heat sink installed; I then had to revise the installation on the heat sink until it turned on with the heat sink installed as well.
Without heat sink I turn the iMac off after the start sound.

Thank you very much for your tip.

I think we can put this tip on the first post as well.
Because more often than not, after re-assembling everything on the iMac, it refuses to turn on and I didn't know why.
My wild guest ranging from short-circut LCD panel, broken LVDS socket, etc.... and I just leave the iMac dead...

You flashed the file named "Dell RX 560 2GB.rom" to your card?
Using that VBIOS UEFI booted Windows 10 worked fine on my machine. Do you boot into Windows 10 using Bootcamp or EFI?
I didn't test anything else and don't have that card installed currently. Windows 10 is not that important on this thread.
Yup, I did Dell RX560 2Gb.rom. I used bootcamp. I found the issue to be the thunderbolt to USB3 adapter plugged into the thunderbolt port. Once I remove the thunderbolt to USB 3 adapter, the display output is fine.

Did you install the ROM for that card?

No i didn't. How can i do it if i have black screen? Maybe using different pc and with bios clip?
Even with a black screen it should boot the linux stick. You will need another machine in either case, for SSH or flashing with a CH341a. Since you already have the card installed I'd suggest trying the linux method. See "Questions and Answers" on page 1, Q3 for instructions.
