Bluetooth 4.0 LE for 2011 MacBook Pro
I followed the instructions to the letter that were posted at the beginning of this thread, and now Handoff is enabled after I received and installed the new Bluetooth card! Thank you very much!
I think where some people may be confused is that you need to download two apps in order to get the procedure to work. One is called 0xED, and the other is KextDrop. The 0xED app helps you modify the hex file within the kext package that blocks out your 2011 MacBook from the VIP list to use Handoff. KextDrop allows you to re-install the modified kext you come up with after using 0xED.
Also, it doesn't matter if you modify the kext before or after you install the new Broadcom card. I did it before, so the instant I turned on my MacBook after installing the new card, I was able to use Handoff!
