I don't think so, given that RAM operates at ~1.5V, but I'm not going to lick my finger and stick it in there to test it.
This is true. I followed this thread for months trying to fix my iMac issues. All the dual monitor info I followed ended up being a waste of time. I thought my memory was fine because I only tested it under the iMacs tools. My memory was actually not ok. I had a 128 gb of ram and I sent it back to the company I bought it from. I got new ram and all my kernal crashing came to an end. Test your ram through the mac tools does not do the job. I wish I would have done it right from the beginning. It would have saved me a half year of headaches.
