Did anyone choose in-store pickup? If so when does the tracking change for in-store pickup?

You don't get tracking. You will get a confirmation to come to your chosen store at your chosen time and that is it.

How was it tracking your Dell Laptop in the early 00's? What was that experienced like?

Very similar to this! You’d get a bunch of us on the Dell forums sharing details. What was missing was the live flight tracking though!

Had similar fun tracking my BMW when it was on the ocean from Germany over on those forums. Really cool now since you can see the plane location live and you can see cargo ship locations live.

It is the fun part of the experience that makes it all feel just a bit more special. You feel a bit more connected.

The journey is fun and the destination will be all that much better for it.

Exactly. I am not even in wave 1 or 2 and probably will not be in 3 or 4 but there is a togetherness here that is sorely missing elsewhere. I learned about this whole thing in November when I was waiting on my MacBook and appreciated the kindness, fun and dedication. If this was a 24 / 7 / 365 thing I would agree but this is like a really quick Pumpkin Spice Season for Apple tech lovers. Glad I found it. Also still struggling post COVID so its nice to be able to relax the body but work the brain with trying to find flights, etc.

For us, what's worked on track by reference is either order number minus last two digits (include the W), or full phone number (although some people needed to drop the last one or two digits).
