Hey for those that are familiar or also have in-store pick-up for Friday. Did Apple charge your credit card early this morning? I got an alert text supposedly from my bank asking if I authorized a purchase from Apple.com/ US for the amount of the phone.
I replied and I see the charge on my card. Just hope it's not a scam cause I thought apple didn't charge your card until you picked it up in store?

My husband’s phone may be on that plane. It was headed to Anchorage when he last checked.
Flight took off 45 minutes ago. Report any scans if you see any. Departed to Louisville Kentucky.
I'm guessing you probably have to, but in years past, I've always had it held at the UPS hub and picked it up, so there they definitely have you sign for it. You might want to call UPS and ask if this package requires a signature if you aren't going to be there to receive it.
No scans yet but they should be appearing soon
Check your credit card to see if the transaction went from pending to posted. If it did then your watch has shipped but tracking didn’t get updated. I had this happen to me. For my 14 pro max, yesterday my charge on my apple cc went from pending to posted and I got my Apple Cash this always happens when the item actually ships. I bet we will soon see that we aren’t in China and the scans will catch up to where out phones really are.

Mine still says arrived at facility in China and the Apple website still says "preparing to ship." Ordered within minutes of release and projected delivery is/was 9/16.

Okay cool! Yea I am in-store pick up as well and got charged on my credit card this morning for the amount of the phone. I was worried it was a scam attempt ha.

I ordered 2 iPhones for store pickup. One was charged taxes at the time I ordered it, the other phone hasn't been charged and shows a 'null' pickup time despite the email confirmation confirming my correct pickup time.
Did your charge amount match that the taxes/total are on your order page?
Folks! If you don’t see your scans being updated. That’s normal. There’s a chance they will be delayed and not show until Thursday but this flight is carrying out our iPhone.
My husband runs his business out of our home and fired FedEx for stuff like that. One day, we’d just gotten some deliveries from UPS and the FedEx driver showed up for his pickup. I heard repeated beeping and swearing from the porch so I poked my head out and he said, “These won’t scan!” like pissed off that our UPS deliveries weren’t recognized by his system. 🤣 They also used to just pick up everything on the porch without scanning it (even after my husband made signs saying “UPS” and “FedEx” with arrows pointing to the piles of packages) and take off, running the rest of the route and waiting to scan our stuff when it was actually time for it to be picked up in order to save time on the trip back to the hub (it’s like 45 mins from our house). The issue? It was both UPS and FedEx packages. We’ve had to chase the truck down the street before to get UPS packages back from them.
I, for one, am beyond grateful that we don’t use FedEx! Lol

Pretty much traveled all night. Happy and safe travels.
Then I believe our phones have shipped and tracking didn’t get updated.
For example my Hermes series 8 says preparing to ship but charge is still pending. So for that it hasn’t shipped. When that charge posts then it will ship. Again based on my experience in the dozen plus apple preorders I have done. 😀😀
