Apple won’t start updating until probably Thursday or Friday.According to My UPS, my phone just left Incheon, Korea and my Apple tracking (or lack of) still says preparing to ship.

Yes. It was UPS175 and we are hoping to on UPS183.Were we on UPS 175 when going from ZhengZhou to Incheon?
5x183
Exactly.N622UP departed a while ago from ICN to ANC. I am assuming they are using the same plane for these iPhones since there’s not much reason to unload and load them again if no sort is needed until arriving at SDF. So the hold up in ICN is probably just a missed scan.
What was it last year? We're gonna blow through last years page numbers..... View attachment 2061565
The good life!Just sitting here in my hotel room, sipping on a captain and coke, browsing this thread and refreshing UPS, lol
I remember something happening with mine last year. Can't really remember the details now, but some sort of problem with customs in China I think. It was a day or so behind nearly all the others. Still, I got it launch day!I believe it happened last year. I was hoping this wouldn’t be the case but the scanning was delayed last year. There's always seems to be an issue with this.
Are you getting yours on the 23rd?I mean…⌚️Ultra, right?!

I guess we will just hang out In Louisville until Thursday.Mine has been in Louisville since 12:42pm today.
They come with iOS 16; however, there will be an update immediately available for bug fixes.Who was it that said that all new iPhones had the newest OS? Said that all of these new iPhones would have iOS 16.0. I hope you’re around to eat your words this Friday if by chance you are wrong.
No eventually as phones get near this is one of the informative things we talk about so your question is appropriate go for it.I know this is a order forum but you guys have been talking about doing backups and starting fresh vs whatever it’s called. Every year I’m nervous what to pick but like last year, I just start the new phone, it says what do I want to do, I panic with the terminology, and pick something that says be sure your phis nearby yada yada. They link up and in a couple minutes my new phone looks exactly like the old one, and it’s done.
Is backing up (which I do always do but never use) and starting fresh all that big a deal? I’ve never done it, never regretted and knock on wood will probably do again because I’m not a tech wizard. It would be a bit overwhelming for me to reinstall all the apps and set stuff up. This topic always messes with me, is there a place I should go study? Sorry to be off topic but you guys started it lol
If you restore as step 1, does that wipe eSim if it's preconfigured on the device? I'm thinking, with eSim being new for many, it would be best to turn it on and let it activate on the cellular network first?I would recommend everyone to connect their new device to iTunes or Finder to restore the new device which will install the latest firmware or just quickly setup the device as new, do not sign into iCloud, OTA update the device then erase all content and settings. After all that, then set up the device as you would
My personal strategy: iCloud backup daily, do one before setting up new phone. Do an encrypted computer backup in the Finder and then select "archive" to make sure it doesn't get written over by the new phone, make sure you save the password for the encryption. Save it at least for a couple months just in case. I've never needed it, but it is reassuring to know you have it.So, I use icloud for backup. Should I switch to the computer for restore on the new phone?
