Looks like Apple was not honest with our order status, shipping and tracking number as mine was just prepar8ng to ship today and went to shipped and it was already in Kentucky! The likely did this to keep people from hammering the UPS tracking system but they need to be more honest about what they are doing.
This happens every year. It's because from China to Louisville, the phones still "belong" to Apple - they are, in essence, shipping them from the factory to themselves. Only once the shipment clears customs, and those pallets are broken down to begin the journeys to everyone's local hubs, do they begin "belonging" to us individually. Through the magic of technology, we know that we can track the packages all the way from China because that's where the labels originate, but until they clear customs in Louisville, they belong to Apple and not the individual people who made the orders. That's why Apple doesn't consider them "shipped" to you until that happens.

A little late, but got the IMPORT SCAN!!! NOT LOOOONG NOW!!!

This Aftership app makes "ZERO" sense. Even the mapping is all over the place. Sometimes too much is no good! Hot mess!
They probably just draw the map in the order of tracking entries, the time zone change puts the arrival in PANC before it leaves from Incheon. It's stupid and they really need to fix it, lazy programming.

To give all you folks something more to do, if you install Flightradar24 on your iPhone, not only can you track your flight, similar to other apps, but you can also point your iPhone to a plane in the sky and see its flight info, and also its track. Sometimes when I'm sitting in the backyard with my dog, I'll track planes on approach to Las Vegas.

Excellent! Well said. Thank you!

You got that right. It's dumb because it's confusing and it confused so many people on here. Total nightmare!

Something seems wrong with my order. On the Apple order page, status changed to "Shipped" a few hours ago and says "Arrives Sept. 16". I never received an email notification that it shipped. When I track using the tracking number, it says "Label Created" and "The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible". When i try to track by reference number using either the serial number or order number, I get "We could not locate the shipment details for this tracking number". Any suggestions?

Same here. But about an hour later you will get another email that WILL lead you to your UPS tracking. Mine was in tracking for todays before it move from preparing to ship to shipped. Apple deliberately withheld our tracking till the day before delivery.

Had to see what all the fuss was with Aftership. CN > AK > KR > KY 😅 yeah... sounds about right to me
The biggest problem is that this app doesn’t distinguish the time zones just posts based on date and time. Hence those out of order scans but if you understand that it often gives a few extra scans that UPS on its app or website doesn’t give till much later

So now I am seriously wondering.

My AirPods (with engraving even) which were due Sept 23 are now showing up tomorrow.

It shows up via reference number in the UPS app and that is it.

No charge to my card yet.

No change on the Apple order page. Just says processing.

Can't help but wonder if those with iPhones arriving later than Sept 16 are moving along faster as well. I check reference number a few times a day and nothing yet however.

If I find an iPhone at the store tomorrow that means everyone with later delivery windows will get theirs sooner than later because that is the way my "luck" rolls and you are welcome! 😂

Has not happened to me ever before and I have owned every iPhone from year one. In the past years, I was notified of tracking almost a week before delivery where this time I get notified the day before delivery. This is not normal but just how Apple and UPS decided to do it.

Maybe this annoying Aftership App is releasing information "pre-maturely". Only thing, I liked was the notifications about the app. They are instant and UPS needs to implement that.

Yes I do have UPS My Choice. I tried the change in mobile so we will see what happens
Good luck with the hold. If I recall, several times in years past I have seen the CC Hold option in the mobile app after the import scan where they wanted me to pay, but in the web interface it gave me the hold at not charge. And it was in the web interface I made this change several days ago, while the phone was still in ZZ.

Strange that mobile app would only offer "UPS stores", and didn't offer the UPS Customer Center, but the Safari web interface on my MBP did.

And here is the info I currently have regarding the CC pickup:

And here is my 2020 notification from UPS on the morning of delivery confirming the pickup location:
