So FUN UPDATE...

The Apple Store app was so jank this year that it reserved me my phone at full price instead of with carrier financing and now, with the launch and my in-store reservation being literally tomorrow, I had to either buy the phone outright, return it and get my money back maybe in 3-5 business days, and then still pay to upgrade early through my carrier OR cancel the pre-order and potentially wait until October to get the phone I want from Apple.

Long story short: this is where I exit the Apple pre-order thread and head to AT&T, who managed to get me the phone I want with in-store pickup and carrier financing in 2 weeks.

Anyone's iPhone flying into Colorado? Last time I pre-ordered day 1 was for the iPhone 12 Pro and that one left Kentucky super early in the morning. I'm guessing our last flight is going to be one of these two.

just gotta get through today yall and the new iPhone 14 will be in our hands. Fortunately and unfortunately for me, I have to go to the Apple Store right after work. My Apple Watch Series 6 is having major issues and I think Watch OS 9 has something to do with it.

Keeps calling 911 and sending SOS messages on its own. I can't even turn off or reset the watch at all. People at work think iam about to die with all the noises it kept making smh.
 
So, called the local UPS CC as my package still doesn’t show as being held at the CC (despite putting in two requests with different forms of payment) and the guy told me he’s not able to make any changes to the package. Hopefully when it gets to the local CC it’s updates by the system and held there for tomorrow. Anyone else having a similar issue? Anything I can do to make sure it’s held?

I haven't called them today (which would be my third call), but my status has not moved from "change requested," same as the last two days. UPS certainly took my $7.99 on Tuesday to hold it at the UPS CC, and confirmed yesterday that the change is in the system. (The guy also said my pickup window would be between 2-4 pm, which makes no sense, as the CC has Will Call hours beginning at 8 a.m. I'm hoping it'll update once the phones leaves KY and arrives at the local hub.

Yea I don't like that ups doesn't give any message or email saying the request was processed or approved. Getting me kind of annoyed because I don't want to get a missed attempt.

I did mine Sunday. I don't ever remember getting any confirmation in the past actually. I have called before to check and they have it so that's what I'm going to do again later today.

I'm thinking it'll update as it gets closer to the local hub/center, right now tons going on in the background so I'm sure their systems are playing catchup. I'm expect (hopefully) for it to update in the next 8-10 hours, if not that's when I'll start to worry; otherwise I'll be sitting waiting until 7:00 PM for our delivery.

Same, except I had to pay $7.99. If I don't get a notification is actually been held, then I'll pre-sign, stick the note on the door and STILL wait for the UPS driver, lol.

UPS is notoriously awful about this. You won't see anything aside of "change requested" on the tracking until sometime after the package is scanned at your destination hub. You basically have to take it on faith, as you can't confirm what you even requested is correct until that time.
 
This happens every year. It's because from China to Louisville, the phones still "belong" to Apple - they are, in essence, shipping them from the factory to themselves. Only once the shipment clears customs, and those pallets are broken down to begin the journeys to everyone's local hubs, do they begin "belonging" to us individually. Through the magic of technology, we know that we can track the packages all the way from China because that's where the labels originate, but until they clear customs in Louisville, they belong to Apple and not the individual people who made the orders. That's why Apple doesn't consider them "shipped" to you until that happens.
So, who takes the iPhones out of the boxes and put it in separate box for individual shipping. That has to be an daunting task!

So now I am seriously wondering.

My AirPods (with engraving even) which were due Sept 23 are now showing up tomorrow.

It shows up via reference number in the UPS app and that is it.

No charge to my card yet.

No change on the Apple order page. Just says processing.

Can't help but wonder if those with iPhones arriving later than Sept 16 are moving along faster as well. I check reference number a few times a day and nothing yet however.

If I find an iPhone at the store tomorrow that means everyone with later delivery windows will get theirs sooner than later because that is the way my "luck" rolls and you are welcome! 😂
Wow interesting, my APP's don't show up at all on UPS and are still Processing 9/23 on Apple. Pending charge on card, though. Maybe I should've gotten the engraving!! 😄
 
Your AirPods Pro 2nd gen are shipping for delivery tomorrow?
Well..... If they show up remains to be seen but I have a tracking number with only 4 digits showing saying that my AirPods 2nd Gen are due here tomorrow before 7pm. I am more than happy to update here if its ok with others because at least to my eyes there is not a thread for AirPod 2nd Gen deliveries.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Sounds like something definitely didn't go right with the software update. I hope the Genius Bar gets you back up and running quickly.

Good luck with the hold. If I recall, several times in years past I have seen the CC Hold option in the mobile app after the import scan where they wanted me to pay, but in the web interface it gave me the hold at not charge. And it was in the web interface I made this change several days ago, while the phone was still in ZZ.

Strange that mobile app would only offer "UPS stores", and didn't offer the UPS Customer Center, but the Safari web interface on my MBP did.

Good to see these! I’m still showing the change requested and no movement past the import scan. I’ll be watching nervously for this held notice.

Joking, LOL. Dang man! that sucks have you tried doing a factory reset? Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Nope, I'm not seeing anything like that. Do you have AppleCare for something other than your new phone that you are paying monthly for, maybe a watch that's after 2 years? You can check your AppleCare plans on a current device by going to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions and seeing your active plans.

But in her iPhone review video today she admitted to lying to Tim Cook when she originally said she was going to buy the Deep Purple and instead she bought the Silver.
@MrENGLISH That's messed up. How can she lie to Tim Cook? Come on! How can you change your mind real quick when it wasn't even her iPhone? She placed an order just like the rest of us.
