FYI in case anyone is baffled like I was:

Louisville's airport got its code from its former name, Standiford Field. It was named after businessman and legislator Dr. Elisha David Standiford, who owned part of the land on which the airport was built.

I imagine at some point the code will change.

JKF is coded as JFK and not Idlewild.

@Rafterman I'm in Rochester and I see that our UPS plane is 5AM almost daily to Buffalo but my phone departed KY at 3:39pm. Not sure where it's headed yet, perhaps JFK or LaGuiardia. Is yours a 3:39 departure as well?

I’d imagine Rochester is flown into Syracuse. There is a 5:35P into Syracuse that you’re likely headed for.

But even a 5AM plane is enough time for UPS to get it delivered tomorrow.

I'm not in NY but we only have one flight daily from SDF as well that lands at about 430 am. My phone shows departed but I know it hasn't left the airport yet. Probably just in a loading area waiting.

Am also in BUF. Over the years I’ve seen evening departures, overnight departures and early AM ones to either BUF, Henrietta or I think once Syracuse before getting to the CC on Bailey (where I’ll be at 9AM). Sometimes flights, sometimes trucks.

UPS also uses ONT (Ontario, CA) for Los Angles metro area deliveries. I think thats the airport my phone passed through back when I was in LA proper.

UPS does land in Ontario. There is a flight that just took off from Louisville and is on its way to LA Metro

looks like my garbage is on UPS2946. i saw the departure scan for 4:02PM around 1:40PM pacific time, so i just went to flightradar24 and started clicking planes headed west a few miles from the airport and found one headed for OAK that took off around 4:20PM. apparently a little late but UPS will have > 1 day to complete the last mile. you can do it UPS!!
