If you are looking at iPads, are you now strongly considering an M1 iPad?

After WWDC, the Pros are now back in the cut and it’s time to get our swerve on.

Might as well just wait for the next models at this point in time. iPadOS 16 likely won’t be released until September/October anyway.

Admittedly, I’m in the market for a 128GB cellular M1 Pro 11 to replace an iPad 6th gen. Just waiting for good deals on either brand new, Best Buy open-box or Apple certified refurb.

I am considering a new iPad Pro this year. I was holding out for new models in the fall but the 25% price hikes on the new MacBook Air today has got me nervous about future product refreshes and price points. So now I don't know whether to take the plunge on a 2021 model, even though we're probably only 3-4 months away from new models.

It all depends on Apples commitment to their own software.

Im glad we’re another step closer bunt it feels like we’re still going to be generations away from finishing their own apps. (I’m not even talking Pro apps like FCP or Logic, even family apps iMovie and Photos are embarrassingly outdated.)

That said, I'm not sure if I'll replace a 2020 Pro11 for an M1 iPad, but I do know that I'm returning my new iPad Mini.

I don’t know if we get it this year, because I’m just thinking, we still have iPhone, Watch Series 8, iMac, maybe Mac Pro and AirPods all could be coming too within the last 3 months of the year. Would they give M2 to iPad Pro before iMac? Idk

After what I saw It's the year of the mini 6 or 9th gen lol.
we bought mini 6 two day ago, we thinking m1 but upon comment here and youtube about heat issue so we take mini6 upgrade from mini5 broken .We also own m1 air so no point same proc.

m2 air is a joke added only magsafe :p

What would be the use case to distinguish that from the 11" iPad Pro (1TB) in your signature?

I have been itching to get an 11" M1 iPad Pro, but at this point it seems the smart move would be to wait for the M2 iPad Pro tablets...?

That’s my plan for now. In the meantime, I will simply have to live vicariously via Macstories ipad reviews.

I find it interesting that ALL of the marketing images for the iPadOS 16 are on a 12.9" iPad Pro. I wonder if that holds any significance for the iPad Pro 11" given how close it is the Air.

I was planning to get an M2 11" iPad Pro and sell my iPad Pro 12.9" M1 - but now I'm wondering if I should deal with it.

100% new iPad Pro M2 thanks to at WWDC we finally get re-ziable windows + Stage Manager and Full screen Display Out.

Already have a 2020 12.9 iPad Pro. Will upgrade when they put the stupid webcam on the correct landscape edge of the screen.

If there is a mini iPad Pro, I'm sold. Love my iPad mini 6, having a pro version that I can attach to an external monitor would give the best of portability and productivity for me.

I suspect it's more that the 12.9" iPad Pro owners are using it closer to a traditional laptop.

Can . Just try now . Hook to external monitor now .

External monitors and window mode are enough for me now to want to upgrade my 2018 pro to a newer model, but do I buy an m1 iPad now or wait to see if they release a new one in 2022. Hard to say.
