I kinda hated everything about this race.

I don't see Lando in a good light anymore.
I agree I hated the race,
However, Lando is not the problem, he is for basically, a victim of politics, he is doing something to earn a bit of cash, he is a mere cog in the machine of F1..

The sport is tainted and does very little to cleanse itself of taint of scandal.. Mr Brundle went too far in his interview with Massa, sure, talk about the race, the weather, who has the best steak, to discuss the court case.. maybe a bridge too far...

We see drivers being abused, some fired, others offered extended contracts, even though they should stick to driving the catering team VW 16 seater..

Yes it is somewhat depressing that there is very little of joy, and we still have Las Vegas, and that insane mafia to deal with.. Do I care who wins in 2025? No, as this is a dead season, end of a long tired set of regulations, teams trying to flog a long decomposed horse..

A decent race. Lando was on form all weekend and didn't show any weakness. Max had a brilliant drive to finish 3rd, Interlagos has delivered a few through-the-field drives in recent years. Antonelli was solid and didn't let Max in his mirrors intimidate him.

Unfortunate for Oscar, not sure where the stewards expected him to go and even more unfortunate for Charles. A poor weekend for Ferrari and in a weekend where there was some promise.

On to Las Vegas where Lando seems to enjoy, I wonder if he can maintain this momentum?
 
While I still believe the SC restart was a Racing Incident, it did result in the P3 car (Leclerc) being taken out so I understand why the stewards felt Piastri should have been penalized.

The other option was for Piastri to just plow into Antonelli which probably would have resulted in a DNF, so Oscar made the best of a bad situation and ended up with 10 points instead of none and is still one race win ahead of Max (while almost one race win behind Lando).

We need decent lap counts, 71 on this track was a farce, 100 laps easy.

Increasing the race length by almost 50% means the cars need to be even larger and heavier to carry the extra fuel. Which is just going to make it even harder to pass and ensure every race just becomes Monaco - a procession where position changes only happen in the pits.

Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has stated to reporters that Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton need to "talk less and drive more" and implied they are the reason why Ferrari is now fourth in the CC after a double DNF at São Paulo.

Personally, I find this quite cheeky considering his meddling in the Scuderia is, IMO, a major part of the reason the team is in the position it is in (and this includes sacking Carlos Sainz for Lewis Hamilton).

It was a shocking weekend for Ferrari, but I don’t think the team are helping much.
The thing about Lewis going to Ferrari that surprised me was how could he not see that it was not going to be his dream move. Yes he is earning plenty, but he looks really unhappy.
 
I think Max would have pit lane to winner chicken dinner, had the race actually been a decent length, not this stupid senior primary from the class 1 300m race to the standard 5 1km.. We need decent lap counts, 71 on this track was a farce, 100 laps easy...

I found his remark really amusing tbh. Since 2007 (post-Todt) Ferrari have had Kimi Raikonnen, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and now Lewis Hamilton, all having 14 WDC's between them, 13 of which were not won in a Ferrari, yet the team continue their title drought. At some point the board of directors at Ferrari need to realise they are a prestigious marque and a vastly under-performing outfit. They aren't losing because their drivers are talking, they're losing because they've spent 18 seasons with a team and structure that can't make the correct decisions at all levels.

I see both Charles and Lewis put out social media quote praising their team in response to his comments. Lewis never should have gone there IMO.

For Lewis, I believe it was mix of "bucket list", finishing his already stellar career at the most storied team in Formula One history and his desire to continue racing when he knew Mercedes was ready to show him the door as they had George and Kimi.

To me, it is the general insularity of the F1 team's management that is the problem. They don't want to hear from outside about how to do their job. They refuse to listen to feedback from both Charles and Lewis (and one of the reasons Elkann gave for hiring Lewis was the input he could bring from his time at Mercedes) and they have been shedding staff because I think people within the team are also not being listened to so they are moving on to other teams.

I don't think Lewis necessarily expected to win another championship at Ferrari but I think he expected to have won more than a Sprint race in his first season. Ferrari were winning Grand Prix last season and now they are struggling to finish on the podium. Lewis has said they aren't listening to him and I think if he was offered his seat back at Mercedes, as unlikely as that would be, he'd take it. Ferrari has always had a lot of ego's speaking from the top and its always everybody else's fault.

Pretty much. During the time of Brawn and Todt as Team Principal, both noted that the company management left them alone and they therefore were able to effectively manage the F1 team and knock heads when necessary to break logjams. Since then, no Team Principal has had that authority and freedom from interference and Ferrari has not won a WDC since.

He was, but Vettel and Alonso were not too shabby as drivers themselves. ;)

Of course, we should take into account that teams could do unlimited in-season testing, had no budget caps and (at least in Michael's case) had bespoke tires.
Also have Ferrari won anything since the playing field was levelled? Remember they used to get favourable terms compared to the rest of the field.

Losing whatever engine advantage they at the start of 2020 really hurt them and now they cannot get the car to ride low enough to maximize the ground effect.

Those Bridgestone qualifying compounds exclsuive to Ferrari and Shells special mix always helped, not to mention a contract guaranteeing number one status and full focus came in handy for Michael too lol.

It was more than just the fuel though wasn’t it? Didn’t Ferrari come under scrutiny for allegedly burning some oil during combustion for a small power gain?

Yep and they also had the power to ask Sauber to hold drivers up because they supplied previous seasons spec customer engines to them. Ferrari were in a very unique position back then, not to mention the £30m payment they got additional to the constructors share all other teams got, just for the Ferrari brand to be in F1. Under Mosley the FIA were very lenient towards Ferrari and that was evident throughout 2006 and 2008.

I’ve never liked Ferrari and that’s one of the reasons I’m not too sad about Lewis not winning much there. I’m kind of hoping he cuts his stay short and has his final season with another team.

Yuki to AMR as a reserve with Honda sponsorship. Lawson and Hadjar stay at Racing Bulls. A one year contract at Red Bull racing with Max? ;)
