Hi Komiez, nothing to declare on my side. Still working as it was the first day:)

Hey man! Thanks a BUNCH!
And your mac recognized them as 2133MHz right? Dunno read somewhere that the mac slows down the speed or something like that.
But your graphs seemed really cool with the benchmarks!!
Is it these ones you had or how much did you buy? Read something like "a kit of 16GB" only one..?
Planning on:
HX421S13IBK2/32 aka http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX421S13IBK2_32.pdf

Know Apple ram is the Hynix CL13 ones - ordered the 8GB minimum standard. So it should be cool to add the 2133MHz to the 1867 ones ?

@Noltimm did you leave your Apple ram inside and just added your Kingston ram and it is working or...?
32GB is fine for me but if I can have 40GB that'd be awesome ofc.

Doing heavy Logic pro tasks and sometimes 4K stuff, tho I went with the m390 card instead.
[doublepost=1484650333][/doublepost]Why I'm asking about mix the 2 different RAM's with Apple's stock ram is that I read that the computer can't run the different ram in both 1.35v and 1.2 (if the DDR4 ram is at a lower voltage). Therefore I'd maybe just use the 2x16GB I'm planning to buy and skip the 8GB that comes with the iMac.

But wanted to see if you guys had kept the iMac ram inside and just added xGB ram into that and it's been running cool - if so, if one can check the voltage somehow?

DDR4 won't work in your iMac, You can run DDR3 at 2133MHz but if you mix it with the stock ram 1866 it will all run at 1866 speed. If you plan on adding to your ram your best bet is to get the same speed. You can check the proper Ram for your machine at macsales.com

Hey thx!!! Just realized Kingston doesn't make the 1x16GB and I mixed them with the DDR4 2133MHz.
They indeed do 32GB but that'll be the 4x8GB 2133MHz DDR3.

Ahh, I'll just have to go with the Crucial's or OWC. Crucial sounds more reliable to me after some reported "freezing" issues with OWC ram.

I have actually used both OWC and Crucial, never a problem wither either. I currently am running 32 (8GBx4) GB of OWC in my iMac. I sent back the 8GB of apple ram for $50 credit.

Ahh nice!!! Ok cool.
Sent back?! No way - to Apple/Apple store or to OWC? $50 is great. But maybe I'll keep em and have 40GB of RAM.

Yes OWC buys back Apple Ram you can read this from there website. You could try adding 2 8gb sticks to give you 24GB total and see how much you are using. If you need 32gb then you can order 16GB more and send back 8GB of apple after you receive the 16GB from OWC.

I replaced the original Apple RAM with 16 GB (total) of 2133 MHz. According to System Information it is recognized as 2133 MHz, and it's been running just fine for about six months. Here's the exact item I bought two of:

Kingston Technology HyperX Impact Black 8GB 2133MHz DDR3L 1.35V Laptop Memory (HX321LS11IB2/8)
https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Tec...&sr=8-1&keywords=kingston+8gb+ddr3l+2133&th=1

Interesting that I paid $52 each on 7/31/2016 and they now show as $72 each -- guess I timed the purchase right!

I took out the original sticks because I understand it would slow down the new RAM to the orginals' speed. However, i doubt it would make very much difference, and maybe I'll add them in too (for a total of 24 GB) if I ever feel the need. <grin>

All is perfect since 6-7 months here!

I have occasional lag/freeze on waking the iMac from sleep...wondering if it's a RAM issue or something else?

That isn't typical of a RAM related problem.

What does it do? Off screen? Black screen that you can move the cursor but no prompt to login? How long does it last? HDD, Fusion, or SSD?

I get both of the above on very rare occasions with the OEM RAM and OEM speed RAM.

Ok, my iMac is setup. Here are the results...
4 x Kingston Technology HyperX Impact Black 8GB 2133MHz DDR3L 1.35V Laptop Memory (HX321LS11IB2/8)

Well, here are GeekBench 4.1.0 64-bit scores from my late 2015 5K iMac with Apple branded 32GB RAM running at the stock 1867MHz speed:

https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/2654309

I tested with no other apps (except menubar apps) running, and no other users open.

And here is the GeekBench 3 64-bit scores on the same 5K iMac, taken when I first got the machine:

Hi, sorry if this a bit out of topic but I just wanted to share and confirmed that my 2012 Macbook Pro 15.4" can support 2133Mhz RAM (Kingston HyperX Impact). Cheers!

Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that on my MBP 15 mid-2012 (2 of them)
Of course, you can install them and make a screenshot, but, the system doesn't work reliably anymore.
I've tried this on both i7 2,6Ghz and 2,7Ghz! And the display starts to flitter!

SO, NOT A GOOD IDEA!
