Hello!! Yesterday, I ordered a new macbook (m7/256gb), and I think it would be a good idea to create a thread to share our waiting times, unboxings and first impressions. If you've already ordered it or you're thinking about it, this is your forum!!:)

Thinking of returning my one week old MacBook 2015 to exchange for the 2016 version. Hoping they will have it in stock at the store so that I can swap.

I ordered the m7/512 yesterday. My 2011 imac broke down in december - my iphone and ipad air has kept me online during this time. I was holding out for the spec bump. I am going to get a 1440P monitor so the lack of 4K@60hz won't be an issue for me, but I understand why it could be for others.

I ordered one last night - M7/512 to replace my macbook13"RD. Unfortunatly i only went for the 256GB of the 13" and after i installed warcraft, my Apperture and itunes library - im left with about 500MB now :(

So this time i maxed it out. I have a beast of a PC that will run games so i just wanted something portable to handle itunes and my photos.

Im not fussed about the lack of ports - but i do wish the USB-C such as the OWC was more readily available :(

I will be ordering today. My only real issue with it is the 480p camera. I only need audio out, charging and video out, and the machine does that perfectly. Battery and speed is likely fine.

But that camera for video conferences.. Eek

Ordered the base version, space grey, today! Worth the wait for the last few months, although the spec bumb is moderate - but nice.

I think that we're going to be surprised with first performace reviews... Better cpu, better gpu, higher speed ram, one more hour of battery, and especially, much faster ssd speed, can make this update very important!
Only one port isn't an issue for me (TB3 would have been welcome, but usb is the standart, and 3.1 gen A speed is enough).
The real lack for me is the 480p facetime camera, but I suppose because of display's 3mm thinness (50% less than an iphone), they haven't been able to introduce an hd version (not hd facetime on a retina display...).

I used the camera in my Thunderbolt display once in 4 years, so the quality hereof doesn't bother me. But the TB3 would have been a great update. Guess that will be in the next version.

As a 2015 owner I am very curious if there will be real world differences. Early benchmarks appear to be slight increases, but IMO it comes down to the GPU. There are little hiccups in the UI (pretty much all retina displays have this issue b.c the GPUs are underpowered).

I have the m7/512gb ordered but I'm going to be watching my local apple store for stock today just in case.

Congrats to everyone, you are gonna love it! :D Get the minx for all the ports.

I use the ethernet port at office, just because of the reliability and hope that it sucks in more bandwidth! :) Minx has been great so far but I wish the cable that connects to the RMB would have been slightly longer as I keep my laptop on a stand (currently the adapter just hangs halfway)

Not from the Apple Store, but ordered this at the same time. Has all the ports I need. Maybe except the Ethernet port, because who even uses that these days?

Looking at getting the m7/256 in the coming days / weeks... depends how long I can resist. Will be used to lighten the load when on the road... Which these days is every day.
[doublepost=1461162621][/doublepost]Looking at the UK shipping times, the m7 build to order option is delivering in about a weeks time. So a little wait.
[doublepost=1461162746][/doublepost]Will be very interesting peoples impressions. I tried the 2015 1.1 and was impressed by the speed in the Apple Store. A 2016 1.3 should be flawless for the basic things i'll be doing with it. Namely everything ;)
